Go over the suggestions above, see what you want, and what you can install yourself.
My trailer has a walk-on roof, no ladder. I contacted the manu and was told no ladder should be put on my trailer.
The first I do is replace my China bomb tires with Goodyear Endurance tires. Then I get a couple of rims and use a couple of the China bombs as spares.

Disc Brakes

Disc brakes should be standard! These are more efficient and safer.

Trailers have to meet a number of building codes. There may actually restrictions on not putting an intake fan in a bathroom. Even if it's not, you really wouldn't want to push those smells into the trailer.

A second air conditioner. My trailer is wired for 50 Amp and prewired for another air conditioner in the bedroom. The one that was installed in the living area is 15K BTU, and by the advice of the salesman who said to try it out first because it may be cool enough, I did not have them put one in. On our first trip, I immediately regretted following that advice. If you are like me, and like to be cool and comfortable while you sleep, opt for the second one. I will be putting one in prior to the season this upcoming year.

I would have liked an installed surge protector.

As previously stated; slide toppers, outside ladder, dual batteries / battery cutoff/ winterization set up, surprised no one mentioned better tires? TPMS for sure (you can install), assuming you have good weight distribution hitch, besides dimmer switches brighter LED lighting, as mentioned good quality adjustable vent fans / covers (Maxxair).

Roger that! Way too many horror stories.
Unless it is warranty work or something I absolutely cannot handle.

I have a much better chance of not messing up the job and I hardly ever overcharge myself

I just want to make sure we're not missing anything. Are there any accessories you wish you had installed by the dealer when you purchased your RV?
Lippert Solid Steps. I just added them myself, and they are nice, but, really should have had them installed at the dealer.

Oh, and, if you have any version of Chinese Tires, change them out for Goodyear Endurance tires. My Saloon tires lasted 3 trips. The Goodyears seem to be a better tire.

An inverter for AC power while on the battery
Tile backsplash in the kitchen and bathroom
I will do these on my own.

We just bought a Wildwood 32RLDS. I has a huge rear window so no ladder there. I watched a video of it being made - three people on the roof at the same time. Documentation says not only is the roof safe to walk on but the slides as well, up to 250 lbs.

My issues was more about bait and switch. Between what I ordered and what I got.
I wanted the high end fan with a remote which is what I told them I wanted by model number..... so my vertically challenged wife could push a button and have the fan come on.

The fan that was installed was still a fantastic but it was the base model with no remote.

When I balked said it was because of the "fumes" you can only suck out of a bathroom not blow in.... Mind you the bedroom fan is maybe 3 feet away and it goes both directions.
I wasn't told about it until I asked where the remote was. AKA I only got half of what I wanted and no choice in the matter. If I was given a choice or at least a courtesy call of the details, I suspect I would have passed on them doing it and installing what I wanted myself.
FYI this was at the dealer so I already had the factory fan, I was being lazy and got burned.

Battery cut off switch. If you don't have one your rig will need to stay plugged in 24-7 or you will have a dead battery every time you get ready to use it. The NO2 sensor has to be on all the time by law. And the inverter/converter has constant draw.

I would rather install the battery cutoff switch myself - so I KNOW it disconnects EVERYTHING. A marine switch mounted on the side of the battery box has worked well for me on 2 trailers.

There may be a resolution. Someone documented adding a wall switch in this forum some years ago.

The wire to the switched ceiling lights may pass through the fan vent cutout area. If so, you can cut a wire there and use it to pull additional wires back to the switch. Add a second switch and connect the wires so both the lights and the fan are switched.

I did that with the Shamrock hybrid I used to own. It wasn't hard. I won't bother doing it with the new Mini-Lite because we really didn't use it that much and DW can (just barely) reach the ceiling switch.

Wife Muzzle, although failure rate is high.

Disc Brakes if they had been available from the factory. RV Dealers don't touch my RV.

Or remove a cable from the battery.

We recently purchased a used Cherokee. Had our local dealer service install slide topper and battery cut off switch. We are planning to replace the two puck lights above the bed with reading lights. Also adding a second spare tire.
