what detergent to use for exterior?

I am in desperate need of washing my 2012 rockwood fifth wheel but am terrified that I will use the wrong detergent and ruining the gel coating...what can I use...is spray nine OK for the bugs?

I have used washing detergents designed for gelcoat, (pick it up at a marine store) and I have also used Lemon Joy on both my boat and coach for years. Both have worked well and did not damage the gelcoat, at least as far as I know. Not sure about the spray nine, never have used it. A good coat of wax works wonders on making the bugs come off easy and also makes it much easier to wash the coach! I used a good marine wax with teflon and most of the dust and dirt wash off very easy.

I have used regular car wash stuff on my current and previous two rigs with no problems. I use wet dryer sheets to get the bugs off the front cap as well as the front of the truck and it works like a champ. Couldn't help you on the spray nine, never used it.

Never never use detergents. They will strip the wax off in a heart beat. Instead, use any good car wash soap found at any auto parts store.
