What do the different FR model designations mean?

I assume that they are codes, describing features of each model - I have a 21DS. I also see things like BLS and FBLS.

I know that the number indicates the length, and I think that B indicates "bunkhouse"? I'm more or less at a loss for the rest...

Does anyone know if a glossary exists?

B can also mean Bath, such as FB meaning Front Bath.
S can mean Slideout, such as WS meaning Wardrobe Slideout.
I don't know of any glossary because there's no standardization for these letters.
Usually you look at the floorplan to decipher the meaning of the letters.

In your case the DS stands for Dinette Slide. Don't know of any published glossary, I just asked my dealer.

There is no agreement among the manufacturers, or even within them. It appears each floorplan designer will pick their letters, or the marketing department will add some in.

There's a YouTube video that tries to explain it, and it's hilarious.

Mine is a 25DS.
DS? Maybe dinette slide? double Slide?
Nope, it only has a couch/sofa slide.

Don't expect a model number to translate to unit length. Sometimes - once in a while - the model number and unit length may be close, but that's all.
Three examples:
Cardinal fifth wheel 3200RLLE = 37'-2" - - - not 32'
Rockwood Mini Lite travel trailer 2109S = 22'-4" - - - not 21'
Wildwood Heritage Glen 23BHHL travel trailer = 30'-2" - - - not 23'
(all lengths from FR website)
Model numbers are more properly thought of as model names and have a very tenuous relation to any specs.

We have several threads on this subject. The general consensus is there is no general consensus. Read through this old thread to see some of the "guesses". http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...gs-196370.html

And on the Georgetown XL "DS" stands for dual slides" and "TS" stands for "triple slides". Our 34H5 has a half-bath so maybe the "H" stands for half-bath. Or not.

Trailer Designations

I really like this question. For years, I've been on the FR Forum and can seldom understand what rig anyone is talking about. I say "I have a 2014, 32' Wildwood TT. I don't even know the ID Number on its side. How can I know some other's designation. I wish everyone would spell out the age, Name and Length. That pretty much tells what most need to know.

That's pretty much what drove my question. I am new here, and I am reading tons of posts, and I have no idea what kind of vehicle people are posting about most of the time.

I had hoped that there was some kind of "decoder ring" that would make it easier to understand.

I also notice that it seems like some people make up their own abbreviations for things & I have to read several times for context to figure it out - or just give up and move on....

Also, my 21DS measures about 25.5 feet overall, from hitch ball to the back of the spare tire. The "box" (living area) is right at 19 feet. So, nothing's really 21. Except.... if I measure from the hitch ball to the rear wall of the trailer (excluding the bumper and spare tire)... 21 feet exactly. So, there's that.

But seriously...

Some common ones.

BH - Bunkhouse.
SS -SuperSlide
WS - Wardrobe slide
FK - Front Kitchen
RK - Rear Kitchen
BS - Bed Slide.
IK - Island Kitchen
OK - outside kitchen.

But not every model uses every code. Mine is a 8329ss, but it has a Bed Slide and Island kitchen. You would think they'd call it an 8329IKSSBS, but nope...

The alphabet soup is not consistent at all.

Tim

Stating length doesn't help. When people are having issues, you almost always need the model number, so you can look at the floorplan.
Like, where is my water heater? How would knowing the length help answer that question.
Knowing length only helps answer length-related questions.

I have Sunseeker 24ws mbs. I'm guessing it stands for wide slide Mercedes Benz sprinter.

We have a Sunseeker 2400WSD Sprinter chassis. It's 25 feet 4 inches long. We have one slideout with the bed, wardrobe, and dinette in the slide. The WSD makes sense but the 2400? Dunno.
