Buddy busted my chops when I told him I bought an RV, said, "that's not an RV! "(referring to my little single axle trailer). Kind of agree with him. It's like calling an electric toothbrush a 'power tool'.

"Bertha' is printed across the back.
Underneath is a small round sticker with a lightning bolt.
Some people know what that means.

RV is an umbrella term. That's why most places that sell them are called "RV Dealers".

Or you can go to a website called RVTrader to buy, sell and trade them.

Heck even this very website is part of the RV LIFE Network.

Doesn't matter if it's a motorhome, fifth-wheel, destination trailer, pop-up, truck camper, etc...

The term "RV" covers them all.

I know this, you know this, but I think the general public still thinks of a motorhome of some type when they hear "RV".

I’ve frequently wondered if it can be a “vehicle” if it doesn’t have its own propulsion. Thus, an A, B, or C would be an RV the rest are trailers.

It doesn't need it's own propulsion.

In SC and many other states, you pay annual property taxes on a camper as a vehicle.

If you have a license tag on your camper, it is a vehicle according to the .gov

The "man" has gotta get his share.

Besides(and according to above), my camper IS my recreational vehicle

NJKris and others understand. "Its like calling an electric toothbrush a power tool." Or a dingy a yacht.

I admit when speaking on the radio to bridge and lock tenders from the "bridge" of my 16' (sixteen foot) "cabin cruiser" referring to it as a "motor vessel" or "yacht" (has overnight accommodations!) and it usually gets the laugh intended.

If referring to a camper or small motorhome as an "RV" floats your boat -- sorry -- just call it what you like.
