I like mine. You can hook to another one. The ECO mode is great, basically idles until power is needed.

Larry that's all well and good if you need a carb. What about a fuel cap or a piece of the outer shell? Just for the heck of it call harbor freight parts and see how long you are on hold. Like I said I have been waiting 4 months for parts for my 3500 predator. It is a very good very quiet inverter but don't break it.

Just ordered one... One little sneaky catch... it's a rebate, so you get charged sales tax on the $640, not the $500.

I was going to buy one last night but they did charge for shipping to Arizona. Almost $60.

What the heck, I'll chime in.

Someone mentioned earlier that the Honda has a "fuel injected" carb. I wouldn't exactly call it fuel injection, but what it does have that is pretty unique is a fuel pump. The real advantage here is that it's easy to add an extended run fuel tank, and there are plenty of kits out there using outboard motor tanks that make doing so pretty simple.

Also, as if there wasn't already enough options already on the table, I've been hearing good things about this:

https://wenproducts.com/products/sup...0243433f&_ss=r

I have a Champion 3100 inverter that I can still lift in and out of the truck fairly easily, but who knows for how long. I've been very happy with it mostly because it runs my A/C without problems, but I'd like something lighter to use in cooler weather (yes, already familiar with the Micro-Air, maybe someday).
Time will tell, the good news as all this competition helps keep prices in check which is always a good thing.

The reviews for the Wen 3800/3400 watt are really good. I especially like that it has a 30 amp RV outlet and an hour meter, just to mention a few things.

Smile Champion Generators

"We have the 3400 watt duel fuel Champion and it is perfect. Others have mentioned the weight of the 3400 but we leave it in the bed of the pickup for overnights. Also, the Champion website tells us it operates at 59 dBA which is good but not as low as some smaller units. We love our Champion and would buy it again."

I have had two Duel fuel Champions and they are great. Bigger 7800 went to FLA for the huricane in Tampa and will not be coming back. So I replaced it with a bigger 9375watt to run my entire house. I run on propane (6800) so I never go for gasoline in the winter storms in the great white north. I push the battery start and never pull the cord. The customer service is impressive and they replaced a regulator for FREE that failed.

I will buy a third dual fuel from Rural King or Costco but I find the RV stores really mark up any generators. The Champions are low db and have 30Amp direct. I also am in the market now!

I have a champion 3500w dual fuel. When running I often stroll around camp area to see how far the sound actually travels. When I walk past a neighboring campsite (on road) any sound at that distance is negligible. Unless neighbor is close like in a state park or NF campground it's often hard to even know there's a generator running.

Amazing how much sound gets absorbed by vegetation.

As for was weight? It lives semi permanently on the rear bumper and while running is nice and quiet. No more noise than most of the MH onboard generators out there.

The cost savings over a "red genset" funded my solar setup with $$$ left over.

I did some research on Amazon that has what is called a soft start. The claim it takes the starting load of your ac units so you can run both ac units with 2k watts generator. It costs about $250. Must make sure you match your ac units to your starting draw. Has good reviews. I recently purchased a 4000w Pulsar inverter gen and so far very pleased. Still investigating Soft Start

I have the Firman 3200 generator for the last year and it's been great. I can't remember what I paid but it was a smoking deal. They are available at Wal-Mart and Home Depot. Electric start is available if you want it.

That price looks familiar. That's what I paid in Canadian dollars. It was a stupid crazy price that matched the US price. I tried to buy it at Walmart but somehow they messed up the order but I was able to get it at Home Depot for the same price. Home Depot now has them at $998 cdn. I almost thought it was a clerical error and they forgot to add in the exchange. Anyhow the price got me to buy it and I'm very happy with the product. Runs very quiet and easily runs my AC. I keep it in the back of my truck under a hard tonneau cover and just flip the back of the cover open when using. Very quiet.

Champion-2000-Watt-Stackable

I think I found the same one at Walmart: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Champion-...ator/729008036

Is this it? Can get two of them for about $800. Is this a good deal for both RV and in home ?

I installing an AIMS 2K watt pass-through inverter. I need to disable the converter when running on house batteries. Per the distribution panel manual it appears that I can disconnect the 120Vac positive from the breaker that powers the converter and connect that to the 120Vac shore power positive input on the inverter. The question is do I also have to disconnect the neutral from the power panel and connect to the shore power neutral?

since you are effectively only 'replacing' the Converter with an Inverter's 'pass thru' 120v power source, using the 'same' output of the 'old' Converter breaker will work - just change the label on the Main Panel to 'Inverter' instead of 'Converter'.

in essence, you are only moving 'where' that black 'hot' wire leads to, to the new Inverter instead of the old Converter, from the breaker, since the breaker, and the hot wire, already gets it's power from the ATS(auto transfer switch), and/or via Shore Power.
