I would speculate that the tanks were manufactured overseas, probably China, and the terminology used is a translation of "Gate Valve'. The appropriate signage is probably included with the tanks and is to be applied upon installation of the tanks in the appropriate place.

If I put in, say, 10 gallons, into a mostly empty tank and THEN open the valve, what the heck is the bad thing that will happen???????????????????????????????

What you say might happen if I walk off and forget I have the flush operating for two hours, yes. But if I don't forget and it only fills up for a bit, there should be no issue.
Was talking to newbie OP. What I say is correct.
If the OP does not open the BT valve and runs his BT flush to an overfill condition, poop water runs up the roof vent creating a unsanitary condition. The OP did not ask about volume or flush times, just what the sticker means.

The OP has the answer. It's not an unusual question. I've had several trailers with black tank and a few of them had the flush system. But, my current trailer is the first one I've had that had the "fullway termination" sticker. I was puzzled at first about what it meant but finally figured it out.

The other stuff about backups, vacuums, etc etc etc, has been hashed out way too many times. If someone doesn't have enough common sense to know that if you continue to put water into a black tank it's going to come out somewhere, eventually, then when it happens it won't be pleasant. I hope they don't confuse me with someone who cares about their situation.

X2. It can and will happen, and it won't take 2 hours. Check out a post by Stefie19, just last week titled: "I'm an idiot....black tank".

This x2. I will never make the mistake of leaving the gate valve closed, turning on the black flush and walking away.

We have a system worked out. I start by flushing with the valve open for a couple minutes. Then I close the valve and let the tank start to fill while my son or wife monitors the tank sensors near the door on the other side of the TT. The "full" sensor always works. When the "full" light starts to blink I open the black tank valve. I'll do this once or twice. Based on this video, filling and dumping the tank will improve tank cleaning but you'll likely still have solids remaining.

Go to 17:44 in this video.

If you add something in the tank that will break down the solids you'll have a better chance of fully cleaning the tank. So, a combination of this method, plus the Geo Method (water softener) and a product like Unique RV Digest-It Holding Tank Treatment will give you the best results.

If you are flushing the tank and you forget to open your black tank drain valve, your toilet will over flow into your trailer LONG BEFORE it starts coming out of the vent pipe on the roof. THAT is why it "may" cause a potentially hazardous condition. Of course, it all depends on what a person's personal hygiene habits are. That being said, I will open and close the drain valve while flushing the tank. I am always surprised at how much more waste comes out of the system.

Sorry, you are wrong.
If the toilet keeps water in for flushing, don't you realize it would keep the black water in from over flowing into the trailer?
The least path of resistance for the black tank contents is through the black tank vent which exits on your roof.
See this link from people that have had this happen.

I read those posts.... and I also saw what happened to a camping neighbor. Maybe that he had older trailer and the seals were not as tight. The seals are not designed or intended as pressure seals.

I believe we are on the same page as the OP is now.
The key here is whenever someone uses the black tank flush, the black tank valve must remain open or the black tank volume monitored very closely and never left unattended during a flush session.

Means if you turn on Black tank flush with black tank gate valve closed BLACK WATER (poop for most of us) will eventually run out on your roof. Not a good thing I bet.

This is one of the "Now you can't sue us when you give yourself a sewer based illness". Kind of warnings like the one that says not to throw your Bic lighter in an open fire.

Now THAT I can understand! We just got a new Flagstaff VLite 30wikss, and the "manual" says to check the individual instructions for the system - which there isn't any. Enquiring minds wanted to know over here, too.
