On interstate - set cruse on 60 and leave it alone. State hwy's - 55 and leave it. Truck has K&N intake and chip, nothing special. Do not get into it! As I said, run in 5th gear, that way it does not up/down shift, even on the steepest grades (unless heavy headwind, then it may on a long steep grade). Couple of times we had to be at a certain place at a certain time. Went 70 and it destroyed the mph, drop like a rock to 10-11 with no headwind. So, I back off and love it. We are not in any hurry anymore, traveling all the time, so a few mph adds up quick.
God bless,
Mike

Just got our new V-Lite 3 weeks ago. Currently pulling it with a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 w/5.3. It does have the trailering package, but it's maxed-out and not really planning to tow the V-Lite with it. My normal highway= 17.5-21mpg. We pulled the new V-Lite twice: From the dealer to home= 75 miles on I-40 and adv. 12.5mpg. Last weekend took it to storage 95 miles across MS 72 and got 14.7. Not too bad considering what I've been reading here. Getting a new F150 EcoBoost this summer to tow the V-Lite with and expect to get more mpg.

Our Sequoia gets 8-9 mpg, uphill, downhill, wind or no wind, it doesn't seem to matter. Keep the speed at 60ish. 5.7 with tow package and 4.30 gears pulling 7k.

We have a 2010 Catalina 29RLS pulled with a 2010 Silverado 6.2 gas. Took a 6000 mile trip from Ohio out west and back. Overall mileage was 9.9 mpg. The mileage got much better after I decided that just because the speed limit is 75, I don't have to drive 75.

not bad mileage for a gasser, road home. i traded my 1500hd with the 6.0 gas motor because it became a pig when towing. not that the mileage when not towing was very stellar to begin with, but it really took a hit when pulling our tt. i believe it was around 9. we had a 31 ft keystone copper canyon.

2011 Ford F-150 Super Crew EcoBoost 3:55 gears 2012 Wildwood 24QB trailer.
With head wind 8.4-8.8 mpg with out head wind 9.4-11.2 mpg. The problem is that it is hard to keep it at 55 to 65 mph. It loves to run 70-75 mph.

That is what I figure happens with most people with the ecoboost. Drive it like a mustang.

Towing a Wildwood 25FB approximate 6500 lbs with my 2009 Silverado 5.3 with 3.73 gears. Round trip DFW to Tallahassee 913 mile trying to maintain 57 mph averaged 10.64.
Tallahassee to DFW 916 miles maintaining 62 MPH averaged 9.48. This leg was in heavy rain and wind for the first 300 miles but each leg was noticeably less maintaining a higher MPH.

Heck if I drove it like a Mustang it would need new tires every other month. It just runs along like a diesel and never misses a beat. Have had a 4.6, and two 5.4 motors one with a 4 speed auto and the other a 6 speed auto and they would slow down on a hill. The Eco just pulls.
I would love to drive one of the current generation Mustangs with this motor combination in it. I think it would put the 5.0 to shame.

You will probably get your wish in 2015. Rumor has it that with the redesign of the Mustang they will also start putting Eco's in them. I'd love to see them keep the 5.0 as well just for us that love the V8 sound in our musclecars.
I'm getting 17 interstate, 14-15 non-city and 10 pulling the 7500 lb TT.

It will most likely be the 4 cylinder EcoBoost. Will be like the old days of the turbo 4.

Heck, I can't resist. We use no vehicle fuel whatsoever. We are at a seasonal site where it is also stored for the winter. I can take my economy car on other trips, but the big thing stays put.
