I love boondocking, no neighbors, great views, minimal lighting. My husband wants a sure thing so he wants reservations at a park instead of taking a chance on BLM type sites.

I can't stand a whole lot of dogs barking at me all the time.

I do wish we could see a map so I can ask for a site. Sometimes you arrive and there is an awesome site that's empty, but you're halfway hooked up when you see it.

I like the seasonal people, they know the good stuff I need to know. And golf carts look like fun. When we go back to a house, I want one, or a Polaris ATV.

Where is a good place to read and write park reviews??

Love camping. Hate leaving. Found that it is good to manually lock doors on vehicles so as not to allow someone else to "steal" locking code. That would avoid the noise many of you are mentioning. Love this forum.

I like it. It confirms the locking thing worked.

Sorry.

I would turn off the lights if I knew how, but not the horn.

Love/hate

I enjoy threads like this. Unusual for me but I read all 5 pages. Some were humorous and some were just absurb. Most of the dislikes are universal. Some are age related. FYI I’m 71. Still try to get along with most folks.
What I can’ t stand is a loud drunk. Most are not only loud but also obonicous.
Excuse the spelling—— result of a public school education.
Enjoy your camping!😎

Idaho camping at least where I go; locking doors and stealing locking codes is the reason for going camping to leave that behind. When I travel (outside my area) that is one of the things I dislike about campgrounds having to lock everything up.

My husband and I are fairly new to the camping world. We have a seasonal site. (This was our first year there) we took the last spot. (We wanted our foot in the door)
Likes- friendly staff, beautiful place, being alone with the husband.
Dislikes- people parking in spots that's not theirs. People not getting passes for visitors. The rules say NO OUTSiDE STERIOS, yet people blast their music even when they leave their camper.

We are on the list if a new spot opens up. Fingers crossed.

I guess I have 'taken the bait'............sorry.

I started this as a list of what you like/dislike about Camp GROUNDS, RV PARKS. It's turned into complaints about people, Campers.

I've taken the bait also....My dislikes are far more people oriented then issues I have about campgrounds.

How hard is it to comprehend what a leash is for a dog ? Just because you think your your dog won't run off or it's so well behaved that it doesn't mean it doesn't apply to you whether at your site or walking around the campground or on the beach...Yeah it's a pet peeve

Yes, and to that I would add:

Campers who think I want to listen to their loud music.

Dog owners who don't clean up, and have to bring 6 big dogs to the campground instead of boarding them.

Unsupervised children.

This is a common problem at our CG with both seasonals and weekenders. We have two neighbors right across the road from us that I'm not even sure own leashes for their dogs.

They've wandered over to our site quite a few times and we've often found droppings that we know for sure don't belong to our dogs.

It hasn't happened yet, but I'm waiting for the day when one of them wanders over when we actually have our dogs out with us and properly leashed. Then there will be a problem.

I guess then that what most of us have to complain about is not always the RV park...but the people that work there...or stay there!

When I'm not out with my 5'ver, I live in an 'RV Resort'...

Which means I own a park model here.

Saw a new one the other day...

Some visitors here brought their dog (a large pit bull) into the pool...

And I don't mean into the pool area...but let their dog swim in the pool!

Then, after that they let their dog run loose in a large grassy area with a pond that is clearly marked "No Dogs Allowed On Grassy Area", where it made a couple of bank deposits and the dog's owner didn't stick around to collect the deposit receipts (if you catch my drift).

Wait...there's more!

In that grassy area near the pond there is also a working water fountain that is a memorial for people that have lived here that have passed, and these guys put their dog in the fountain to wash off the pool water.

Need I say more?

I love small county campgrounds. They are usually quiet and not too crowded. I have seen pics of private campgrounds and KOA types but to me they look like crowded little towns and that doesn't appeal to me at all. I am retired and work a part time school job so I can camp during the week when its nice and quiet. I love quiet and well kept camprounds, not rv parks. Oh, and clean restrooms and showers.

I really don't mind that too much as long as it's not noisy careless kids. I like having an opportunity to say hello.

Dirty bathrooms and shower rooms would be my biggest complaint for any campground. Camped in some that had not been thoroughly cleaned in years.

Campground bathrooms and showers. I have not seen the inside of either since I bought a camper. I still associate those with tent camping.
