US Cellular runs their own towers where they do business (limited regionally across the US) and when you are not in those regions they use 3G verizon towers to connect you through whats called roaming. So if it is in fact cheaper and you dont need 4G speeds on data then it may be the best of both worlds if you arent being charged for roaming.

We have AT&T and have only come across a couple areas in our travels that didn't have service, at least in places where we've stayed. Been through areas of no service of any kind. I have 5 seperate iphone lines w/ data plans and unlimited texting, I'm not even going to mention how much my bill is a month.

We now are back to US Cellular and have the mobile hot spot. Have not had a chance to use it yet on our travels but at home the hot spot does work. If you have a phone signal you can use the hot spot and have internet.

We have AT&T. On house, tv, Internet , cell

I have Verizon on wireless card
I'm in DFW in Texas .. Mostly these 2 works well
T mobile has some bad spots , if you go off the beaten path for sure

We camp in broken bow ok and AT&T was the will winner there , my Verizon would not connect There ... We would go to town at macdonalds to use wireless

I believe it depends what part of the state or country your in , as to how the system works?

There all to e expensive .

Kind of the exception here, we have had Sprint for 15 years now. We use a lot of data and have 3 lines. I price compare every time contract comes up, and we save right $100.00 per month over Verizon. A little more if we went ATT, but there data plans really don't get there anyway.

I have noticed with Sprint that so long as you are in site of a major highway or city, you are fine. However, since the roaming is included, we never actually go without service.

Traveling mostly throughout GA & FL...DW gets much better reception w/Verizon than I do w/ AT&T ( I'm too lazy to switch to Verizon but want too)

I've used Verizon for a long time and it worked in northern montana last summer where others didn't. My father-in -law is an over the road truck driver all 48 states and parts of canada and he uses verizon because of the coverage.

I had cellular one in 1990 which changed like 3 times before it became Verizon. My phone in 1990 was the size of toaster and I think I had a 30 minute plan.

I can see that location has had a lot to do with it with everyone posting from all over the country at the time I was living in MD and working in DC so I guess it was Bell Atlantic in this area....

Cell Phone Coverage

We use AT&T. We could use it even in Newfoundland. Boyfriend sails on the Great Lakes. He can get service several hours even outside of Duluth, Staits area and way up into the Seaway, above Copper Harbor and before he gets to Whitefish Bay out on Lake Superior. Great service. One thing we have found out having used various services, it really depends on your phone.

Cooper Harbor

We've been to "The Mac", Sioux Locks and those falls whose name I can't spell! Beautiful country.

We've had Verizon for several years, only found one area (so far) in TX that had NO coverage. However, we're considering "Straight Talk" because there's no tax collected, no contract, same coverage areas, more texts and minutes for a lot less $$$$.

I have had TracFone for years and I really like it (because I'm cheap, and I don't use my cell phone much). I get service in many areas that my wife's iPhone doesn't (it uses virgin moble no-contract).

I can get a whole year of service for $99. Sometimes I do have to add some minutes before the year is up if I get chatty.
