Seems like RV manufacturers are providing a way to shower outdoors.

Sure might be better than trying to fit in some of the dinky inside showers.
I made and installed a shelf next to our outdoor shower and we used tubs on it to wash/rinse dishes. Most Oregon State Parks (our usual destinations) have 'kitchen waste water' dumps scattered throughout the park. We would dump the wash water in those. The rinse water just went to the nearest shrubs.
Several positives to that - - greatly lengthened the time it took to fill the gray tank and at the same time we didn't have to worry about bits and pieces of food scraps clogging up the tank. I also set up a mirror and used it to shave rather than use the bathroom sink and have the whiskers go down the drain into the tank. Also came in useful for rinsing off after swimming in the rivers or (especially) the ocean. Have to admit that on occasion I would wash face and armpits there, when I was too lazy to walk to the showers or they were crowded. I think outdoor showers are extremely useful and versatile and would not want to be without one.

We use ours the same way as most have said already. Washing feet off is the biggest one, if we had a dog it would be a great way to give them a quick bath. We could live without it but it's also a good way to save on grey water tank space.

Anyone have a dedicated shower pad or mat that they use under their outdoor shower? We currently don't use it much – save for occasionally rinsing off the feet – but it might be nice to take a nature boy shower when equipped with enough privacy.

When boondocking, we use ours as a dish washing station with collapsible dish pans set on a small portable table. Helps keep the inside of the trailer neat and cleanand saves space in the gray water tank.

I like to use ours like others have posted to wash extremely dirty pots and pans outside. Also when we break camp I'll wash my Coleman grill cooking grates outside. I keep a separate dish pan, brush, and scrubber near the water wet bay.

The outdoor shower also functions great when my DW has her grandkids camping with us for a night or two to rinse their feet off before coming into the rig.

I certainly didn't mean to imply your setup was wrong, I just prefer a strong blast of water to rinse my tank.

We use this: https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/runnen-...gray-90238111/ clicks together quickly, is light, and transports easily. Keeps our feet out of the dirt/sand when washing kids or just rinsing feet.

I have seen some good setups where people have a stand alone shower/privacy tent (similar to these https://www.amazon.ca/Privacy-Tent/s?k=Privacy+Tent) and run their shower head inside it for private showers. Ours is on the back side of the trailer, so not always in the most convenient spot depending how our trailer sits on the site we're in. I would like to attach a spray port with a long hose to it so we could use it on the awning side of the camper.

Poppy, if you use it, be sure to turn the water off by the handles on the facet when done.

If you turn it off by the button on the shower head and leave the facet valves on the hot and cold water will "mix" through the shower facet as you run water in the other facets of the camper and you will have water temp problems inside the RV

That never happens...

That (nudity ban) never happens where the Cherokee 38P is sited. Even the showers by the pool are open-air, co-rec. Further discussion via Private Message, please. I don't want to get kicked off this board.

That term is no longer used. Current terminology is "nudist resort." The Cherokee 38P listed in my signature is permanently sited at one.

Nudist is an acceptable term.
Naturist, (not naturalist), is an acceptable term.
Naturalist is someone who studies nature, e.g., a bird-watcher.

If you had seen the girl in the skimpy bikini showering outside the motorhome parked next to me on labor day you would not question the value of an outside shower!

We rarely use ours. The grandkids would get their feet just as sandy coming and going to the "shower" so we just use a hose on a "y" from the campground faucet.

As manufacturers continue to look for ways to cut costs and cheapen RVs, these outside showers will probably go away someday soon.

We carry these snap-lock rubber pads and use them when there's muddy spots or when at the beach.

EBAY-12" x 12" interlocking pads.

-Washing off ATV before rolling it in (Toy Hauler)
-Washing of boots, muddy kids, dogs, unless you want it inside
-Boondocking: Washing large pots, pans or even dishes so you dont fill up your grey water tank. And most inside sinks are VERY small. Same with basic showering
-Washing off muddy steps
-Washing off caught fish or fresh game
List goes on

Remember, the outside "shower" option has cold AND hot water
