What is the "Shower" on the outside of my RV for?
There is a locking compartment door on the outside wall of my RV with hot and cold water, water hose and a nice shower head inside. The word
"SHOWER" is molded into the door. I see a lot of them on various RV brands.
Seems like RV manufacturers are providing a way to shower outdoors.
Sure might be better than trying to fit in some of the dinky inside showers.

It's great for "beach feet" and to hose off the Kiddos and dogs.
I prefer our inside shower myself for a real shower.

It is what it is, an outdoor faucet with a sprayer attached.
You use it however you like, feet, dogs, rinse out a tub, whatever. Or don’t use it at all if you wish. Ours is located near the waste water dumps, so it can also be used for cleanup of hoses, hands, etc.
If you think it’s better for showering than fitting into the inside shower, that’s perhaps an option for you. Check with the campground first.

I have never found them very useful. I wish they were an option. I wouldn't have one.

I don't believe I've ever seen someone here ask what's a shower for!

We've found the best use is to put a longer hose on it that will reach to your fresh water inlet port. Then use your winterization inlet/function to fill your fresh water tank from containers using your onboard water pump.

Outdoor Shower
We had one of those. I kept getting complaints from campground owners about me showering outside. They kept saying something about no nudity permitted. So how is one supposed to shower?

We were at an Ohio SP a few years ago. While playing cribbage during a rainstorm we noticed our camping neighbor across the street showering in the rain. This guy was pushing 80 years old and was Bu** A** naked enjoying his shower. We had a good chuckle.

Yeah, nobody wants to see that!!! I am going to replace all my mirrors with new ones. The ones I have now just show some old man.....
When the grandkids were much younger they preferred to bath in a tub with the outside shower head. Of course we were far away from anyone in the backwoods.

I bought my RV used. Do they come with a shower curtain kit when new?

We’ve used it many times during summer outings at state parks with no sewer. Able to get clean with our bathing suits on and no complaints while saving tote a turd usage.

We have found the outside shower very useful when our Miniature Schnauzer rolls in CHANEL #2!

Now you're making us Texans cringe.
No they don't come with a shower curtain kit. You'd have to buy one of those outdoor showers for a private shower.

Obviously you've never been to an RV nudist colony.

I have a 3/4" garden hose thread adapter for my outside shower hose. It attaches very nicely to the black tank flush connection right underneath the outside shower. Makes it very easy to flush the black tank when at a full hookup site.
In fact, this is the second trailer I have had where the black tank flush connection was within reach of the outside shower hose.
I also use the outside shower to purge air from the plumbing after hooking up to city water because it is also on the same side as the city water connection.

You won't get nearly the water pressure for tank flushing when running from behind the pressure reducer as you would if you came straight from the pedestal. I put a splitter at the pedestal, one for the filter/pressure reducer and one side for a zero g hose for bike washing etc. and then the tank flush hose when we're packing up.

And, yet, it has always worked just fine. You don't need more than 55 psi to rinse the black water tank.
