What’s your worst part about camping

What’s your worst part about camping ? Mine is when you’ve been traveling all day, you get home an all you want to do is sit on ass but you have to unload. It’s a real chore There are sometimes when I wonder if it’s all worth it ?

OH it's worth it!
Never travel all day.
Only come home once every six months.
And do not sit on your *****.

I agree. I would prefer to not unload after the drive. Oh well.

The worst part for me is that I have to go back to work the next day.

I guess I’ve always been lucky to have the motorhome parked alongside the house. If…..and it doesn’t usually happen, but……if we get home late, just plug it in, and deal with it the next day(s).

Being retired also helps with tight schedules.

Hang in there

Worst part

Having to head home.

Actually, we keep travel time to a very reasonable level. About 3 to 4 hrs of dragging the box behind the truck is a day for us. Of course, we are retired so our schedule is our schedule.

The wife asked, "so what are you planning for tomorrow?". My normal reply is "nothing". To which she said "that's what you did today." And I replied "yep, and I haven't finished either".

We will all get to the undertaker cooling slab one day in the future. No sense in accelerating that arrival day by bustin' ones butt to get somewhere. Smell the roses along the way. Otherwise, they will just adorn your casket.

Worst thing? Other campers that think it's ok to walk through my campsite as a shortcut to the bath house, campers that think it's ok to get drunk and run their RC cars and/or drones into my truck and camper on my campsite, and campers who don't pick up their dogs' poop, whether it's on my campsite or not. I'm surprised they don't equip each of their kids with one square of toilet paper and tell them to go in the woods.
Ok, that's three, but these three rotate for the "worst" award depending on which is happening at the moment.

Not sure where you are camping, but you need to change your CGs.
We have zero issues with these kinds of issues.

Breaking down camp to head home.
Don't mind breaking camp to move to another spot, but the head home part is by far the worst part of camping.

I too was going to say, the worst part is packing up to go home.

I do not let others bother me anymore. It did at one time. But now we go camping to see people and get away from nature.

Haven't had that "have to go back to work" problem for 18 years.[emoji41]

I agree with others that say the worst part is going home. Once home I just park my T T on it's pad, plug it in, and take my sweet time getting ready for the next trip.

Don't have those issues where I boondock. It's not just the cost of an RV park site today, it's the change in "camping manners" shown by many in the last decade or so.

We’ve owned our trailer for just over 3 years now. I’ve tried to think of “the worst part of camping” for us. So far the only thing I can come up with is “the worst part of owning a camper.” The worst part of owning a camper for me is making plans and having to change them due to work or family. But having a family and jobs is a blessing. I guess so far we don’t really have a worst part of camping. (Knock on Wood.)

As was mentioned earlier in the thread, having a motorhome and parking it at home means there is no immediate need to unpack. We come home after camping and park it in a building. The vast majority of camping gear remains packed in the motorhome at all times. There is no reason to unpack it, except perishable food and some clothing and toiletry items.

One of the worse parts of camping is later going through the list of RV things that break on each outing, being as RVs are so cheaply built.

I think the worst part of camping is the sometimes uncivilized and unthoughtful people at some campgrounds. It’s nice to get back home in the country and have peace and quiet again.

Insects! Namely mosquitos and biting flies. We also had one place where the wasps were absolutely horrible in numbers but I managed to escape without getting bitten.

It’s not every campground issues but things I’ve run into in the past.

1-Screaming crying kids
2-loose dogs walking through my campsite.( this gets my dog upset)
3- dog crap and people that leave it
4- car horns from locking your car in the middle of the night.
5- People that leave there barking dogs in there RV.
6-People walking through my camp site.
7-wet smoky camp fires and people that burn plastic and cans.
8- cigarette butts all over the camp site.
9-Fireworks in the campsite area. ( fireworks landed on my roof)
10- Headlights blinding me while enjoying a adult beverage from the guy that arrives after hours. ( this happened twice)

Go slower. Rest more. Save some energy for after you get home.
I am older now. Usually I just empty the cooler and bring my clothes in the house. I empty the trailer the next day.

We currently use ours often enough that we never really unload it. But before retirement we quickly learned that unloading things and clean up was not our favorite things to do.
We solved that by having duplicates of most everything that we used to transfer back and forth between RV and house. We have clothes and shoes that stay in the RV. We clean as we go, so we don't have to clean the entire RV when we get home. We are also fortunate enough to be able to park beside our home, so we rarely unload anything out of the fridge and just leave it plugged in.
When we get home all we usually have to do is remove whatever dirty laundry there is.
At our age you have to learn to work smarter, not harder than you have to,
