My 2017 Chevy Volt came equipped like that too. Mostly weight and space saving measure. Funny thing, when I did have a flat tire the compressor and sealant canister did the job just fine. In fact it was easier than jacking up and changing the tire. Either way, "slime" or spare, you're going to be visiting a tire shop to get the tire repaired. The only downside is that the replacement canister of "goop" is $35 from a GM Dealer.

If you have to use the factory canister just replace it with a $9 aerosol can of slime emergency tire repair. It will inject the sealer and partially inflate the tire. Then use the factory supplied compressor to finish inflating tire.

The new "Fix a Flat" formulas are TPMS safe and are easier to clean out of the tire when your tire shop repairs it.

As for the manufacturers, they no doubt have done studies as to how many people have actually used the spare tire the car came with. Compared to the millions of cars on the road, the actual number of spares that get used are a small percentage. To the manufacturer it makes sense to replace the large, bulky, heavy wheel/tire combo with a small "kit" makes sense. In my case it provided more room for the 12v battery as well as large main battery.

If you mounted it to the bottom of a cupboard then it would qualify as an upgrade. I used to have one (Black and Decker I think) that attached to the bottom of the cupboard. Was nice because I never forgot to put it away and then find it in the sink or on the floor after driving a couple hundred miles.

Observation Cameras

Had CL-718W-D installed on new Wildwood X-Lite. Only came with one rear camera - able to handle more. Thinking of adding side cameras. What is the consensus? Where can they be purchased? No luck in finding them. New to the forum and trailering. Love all of the posts. Very informative!

Screen door guard for the dogs, mattress topper, tension rods for frig, medicine cabinet & other cabinets so stuff doesn't fall out, shelf/ dish racks, storage boxes & hooks, max air vent covers, privacy/ black out reflectix for windshield & other windows, Dish satellite ( standard crank antenna totally inadequate) and a better sewer hose. Soon after realized I needed a stabilizer for my frequent windy driving, a 2nd night vision camera, solar panel & rear bumper motion sensors. With my bad back; I hated my Sprinter/ Solera's hard, poor lumbar seats so I had custom seats made w/ lumbar, heat & massage. It made a world of difference for me; no more readjusting seat & lumbar cushions continually. I also added the hydraulic jacks; as I solo female I was really tired of getting on my knees with leveling blocks when I was tired after a long drive, then having to take up storage space with them also. As a person in a smaller rv w/o a toad, I can p/u camp quickly for an errand. I didn't want to bother when doing complex blocking.

*The very first upgrade we did on our 2500TS was a full undercoat.
*Second was to replace the kitchen faucet with a single lever and a rinse hose.
*Third was custom cabin seat covers and covers for the dinette.
*Fourth, a TV to the rear bedroom
*Fifth, we added a Jeep toad.

Not much, originally. On our Wildwood, I first sectioned off the "T" area in front which consisted of a front storage accross the entire width of the trailer, and back, under the bed. This gave a secure storage under the bed for linens, vacuum cleaner, etc. The front part was for jacks, tools, hoses, etc. I used hangers on the new wall for the hoses. Then I added shelves to about 7 storage cupboards which were too high to store clothes, canned goods, etc more than one high.
