I like surprises. My dear husband is a generous gift giver but does not like to shop. So I usually have to give him a list, or more exact, I text him pictures of what I want. He then takes his phone to the jewelry store and shows them what I want. I usually give him several choices, therefore, there is still somewhat of a surprise.

Wish I could convince my DW to do same. I don’t need anything and buy what I really want

Mslaman, check back with us Dec. 26 to let us know how the Mrs. like her welder and table saw. You may want to get her a projects book or at least a Popular Mechanics mag as a stocking stuffer to get her up to speed on an exciting project to build for you right away! Happy Holidays My Friend!!

I learned the hard way to not mention things I need anywhere near Christmas if it's not something I would want as a gift. That's how you end up with an over priced HDMI cable "because you said you needed one and they're expensive". First thing I did was teach him how to shop Amazon for things like that. Then I showed him what a "wish list" is on Amazon. Pretty sure the Prime package being delivered tomorrow that he made sure to tell me was not to be opened is the new dSLR camera set I've been drooling over
