What's Your Plans For New Years?

We plan on staying home and off the roads. At midnight we are going to have the first campfire of the New Year, well maybe the first fire we will not be camping. I have a 30" firering on my pool deck and it is loaded with firewood just waiting for 2010.
I like to wish everyone a safe and Happy New Years.......

With more bad weather being forecast, we are planning on both New Years Eve and a New Years Day day party within staggering distance.

Each year we have a party at my house. We eat until we can't eat any more. Play a few games and watch Dick Clark ring in the new year. Usually it's just family and a few friends of my daughters.

We plan a New Years Day hike at a place called Dillon Beach in Marin County Ca. A dog friendly beach so we will have all of our dogs, 3 of our grand children and any friends who choose to join us. The plan is to do it rain or shine.

OOOH, Brisket.... FedEx some up my way would ya?

The campfire sounds great right about now Rockwood.

As with most holidays I am at work. Tonight I'm bored out of my mind training one of the next generation of our nations air traffic controllers. Needless to say I bought the RV cause I don't trust flying anymore.

Happy New Year to all

Brisket is on the menu next week, actually it will be pastromie by then. I currently have a Ham and a Prime Rib in the smoker, I made some home made beans with smoked bacon last night and simmered them all night, I am getting ready to make my ceaser salad dressing and to top it off I have my cornbread in the skillit ready to be cooked up. I am fortunat to have the room in my 5th wheel to carry my Bradly Electric smoker and my new Traeger wood pellet smoker/grill, I fire those puppies up while camping and I seem to gather a crowd quickly LOL. Man I wish I was camping instead of this 2 feet of snow and -20 weather.

Here is a chicken I did just befor Christmas. I cold smoked it for 4 hrs then deep fried it in an oiless deep fryer called the Big Easy. I started cooking this way because it is actually very healthy compared to some other methods.

We had a great New Years Eve, but our fire at pool side didn't happen. We had about 1 or 2 inches of snow on the ground New Years Eve morning when we got up and then it changed over to all rain for the entire day. We made the most of it, the party started early. It looks like eveyone else had a great time as well. By the way...you have got to stop posting pic of all that food, it looks mighty tasty....Happy New year to all.
