Our grey always fills up first. I travel with women and they use alot of water when they shower. If I'm staying more than 1 night, I put out the sewer hose when we arrive and leave the grey valve open so I don't have to worry about it.

I haven't had that problem. Having only 6 gallons in the water heater, the lack of hot water limits DW and the kids shower time.
