When is the best time of the year to travel around the SouthEast?
This poll is to give myself as well as other a good idea when to visit the southeast.
We are talking about Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennasse, Arkansa, Louisanna, Alabama, Mississippi.
Consider weather temps, humidity, hurricanes, etc
Thanks

I voted November - December, but I'd have to say Oct.-Nov-Dec.
The best of the three above is Oct., From Daytona Beach, Fl. to Corpus Christi, Tx.

What are the temps in SC like during May? I'm thinking of making the trek to Darlington next year for the NASCAR race. We were in VA & NC a year ago April during a bit of a warm spell (not RVing though).

April or November are just about right here in Fla. If you are coming to swim, May and October get my vote.

May is a transitional month and it could be anywhere from 50 to 90. Sometimes on the same day. But overall, I'd say 70ish on average.

Thanks. We were in Rockingham for the fall races (Oct') in '95 & '96. It was a touch cool in the mornings, but warmed up a lot by mid afternoon.

This is what I like about this FRF. We have so many knowledgeable people who have travelled and this kind of information is valued information for everone to use.
Let's keep this going.

Thanks youroo
We do like to travel when most don't. That way as you said no problem getting into a good park.
Anyone else have any opinion when to travel the SE.
So far it looks as if early spring and early fall are close.
So far we are swaying toward the trip in March/April time frame. Seems that the majority of the group is devided between spring and fall seasons. We will keep watching and see if anything changes.

The best time for what? Seeing the fall colors in the southern Appalachains? October. Visiting the Florida Keys...some say winter, but if you like to fish and swim April/May. Interested in going to the beach...summer. wanna keep cool in the mountains...summer. pretty much anytime traveling in the southeast is good...except during an ice storm (lol).
