Where do you snowbird???
This will be technically our first year doing the snowbird thing so was curious as to where other folks head? We will head out early December working our way south, one stop near Raliegh to visit a friend then Charleston for the FROG Rally there, after that a short stay near Orlando for Christmas then head to Oak Alley in Webster Fl for a 3 month stay (longest ever in one spot).
Please add your location and maybe even why as there is next year to start planning incase the Florida spot doesn't work out.

The place we snowbird, we enjoy very much, but it’s always booked nearly full and our reservations are difficult to get. So, sorry, I can’t tell you or the rest of the forum where it is.

This will be our 4th winter in the South.
Like you we typically leave mid-December and spend some time traveling south.
We've stayed in the Charleston area, the Savannah area and spent Christmas one year at Creekfire Resort.
We then migrate to the north central part of FL. I have a brother and SIL in Palm Coast so we've stayed not far from them in Crescent City but this year we are staying in Ocala at Ocala North RV Resort.
We then head home around the 1st of April.
We won't be too far north of you so if you are ever out and about, look us up.

For a 3rd winter we’ll be in Niland, CA. We stay at The Fountain of Youth (foyspa.com).
Great place, lots of activities, natural mineral spas, etc. It’s a loooong way from home (3300 mi or 5500 km) — home is near Gatineau, QC, but it’s worth every 12 days of driving.

Snowbirding to me means stay away from the cold . anything further north then orlando is not warm enough on the east coast . just had a hurricane so a few parks are closed indefinitely , maybe some open back up after the first of the year . At least Florida has tons to do and see from the keys on up . if you like water, sunshine, seafood, and plenty of entertainment Florida is hard to beat . it will be tough in SW Florida for quite sometime as the rebuilding will take years . things will open soon . It would be good if most snowbirds found other places to go for the next 10 or 20 yrs as we could use less traffic from all the snowbirds and enjoy the uncrowded beaches with them gone .

For 6 years we did the snowbird thing(actually in Western Washington it's called "Rainbirding"). We started doing SoCal Beach camping, then expanded out to Palm Springs, then out to Arizona.
We now live in Arizona permanently and will visit the PNW in July and August.

We do just the opposite. We live in North Central Florida (and there aren't too many people but, keep believing that as it keeps things nice around here ) and actually just got home from 5.5 months on the road on Sunday. You guys all bail when it gets cold we bail when it starts getting too warm. If you avoid the Tourist and Retirement areas you can find some nice campgrounds in northern Florida.

We too. Summers in Columbia, SC have become too hot and humid for this aging PA boy. We spend June through September in WV.

Agree. Even in the higher latitudes in the Midwest, we suffer through too much heat all summer, where I long for the cooler temperatures of fall, winter, and spring. No way would I want to go far south in winter and suffer through heat in the winter as well. To each they’re own, but even in the heart of the US, I’d be more inclined to go far north for the summer, and stay home in the winter.
