Tire change
Why keep one of the old tires?

However, given that I have the spare tire (and a rim I plan to mount it to), I might just mount it next to my other spare, because why not?

I’ll be wondering if you have any spare flys in y’all’s tackle box.
CastleRocks need 3 spares.

We got our GreyWolf in 2020 and this spring we pulled the china bombs and put on GoodYears. I kept 2 of the china bombs and one of them went on a rim this week to be taken with us so we will have two spares. Soon we are going to make our first truly long trip, covering over 1700 miles in the next two weeks.

Oh Yeah!
Trip to Ten/Ky. 50 miles out from campground ... boom. On goes the spare. Twenty miles later ... boom from the other side. My "spare" had been used so on the side of the road till I got a replacement. Yes, I had China Bombs. I have since gone full Endurance and an extra spare (on a rim) that rides in the back of the truck. Proud member of 2-spare club!

I have been carrying 2 spares for a couple years now. So far we haven’t had to use either. Both are kept in the back of my Chevy 2500HD.

Makes sense to me. I view used tires as being the equivalent of a donut tire. They get you to the tire store.
Edit: that assumes the used tire, used as a spare, is in reasonable condition.

I do, I have three 5th wheel buddies that each had blow outs on both tires from the same roadway debris. I figure what the heck, I'm not using the bumper mount for anything just yet.

On the subject of spare tires, does anyone know of a rack designed to carry a spare tire on the tongue, behind the propane bottles? I moved my batteries inside and would like to shift some weight off the bumper and onto the tongue. I can't mount it on the side of the frame due to WDH jack mounts. I can fashion a cross-member to mount the standard bumper tire rack on, but hope to find something ready made.
