Who has been a NATIONAL park service campground host?

I am seriously looking into applying for a NPS campground host position summer of 23. I have even opened an account and started the application process, BUT

After several emails to the Pri and sec contact for the position, I have had no reponses. I also called the contact numbers and ext's, and they are not current

I finaly got thru to a person, and they said the main POC is still in charge, the email addy is correct and is the person I should contact with questions, but he's not in the office, etc, etc, But he would contact him and leave my name and number, so again I am waiting for response

And the person I did talk to didnt sound too involved or interested in even taking about the position And he was the head of Volunteer Operations!

At this point, I am not too impressed. I have very specific questions about the position as I am sure anyone would

Bottom line: Who has actually worked for a NATIONAL PARK SERVICE campground host position Pros/Cons?

Please limit responses from those who have actually worked as a NATIONAL park service campground host

Expecting a rapid and timely response from any Federal Government branch is kinda like expecting a snail to set a land speed record. You've submitted the paperwork. It'll probably take a few months to make it's way through the system.

I disagree.
We have not done it but did talk to folks who had/were working at Shenandoah NP. I'm surprised you haven't got a response. If I were you I'd try again. See if you can get a current phone number. Speaking to the person in charge -even if they are hard to catch- is the way to go IMO. Parks are woefully underfunded and short staffed. Keep trying. We would do it but most want you to sign up for at least a month and would want you to stay longer than that. We are fond of moving about every 2 weeks so it doesn't fit our "retirement model".

I'm wondering what resource has the OP used to apply for the job. At one time my DW and I were kicking around the idea of doing the same and if I remember correctly we were using USAJOBS.Gov as a resource https://www.usajobs.gov/
