The little arrow pointed in the direction of the water flow. Besides the threads only allowed one way to hook it up.
Also when I removed everything from the trailer.. Hose, ball valve, anti syphon thingy, and just sprayed into the open air... It worked.
It seems that when you screw the male end of the thingy into a female end it prevents water flow.?.?
I wonder if this could be re-engineered for birth control..?

Sounds like it is just non-functional then, right? If it's exterior, easy fix. All of mine have been inside a wall with an access panel. You are lucky!

In that case, it's most likely a clingy thingy.

It was one of top 10 things you have have when you buy a new camper. Glad it was only $3. I got free shipping too because I bought another $150 worth of top 10 things I had to have when buying a new camper. Some of it I have never used. Other stuff I could have done without or found a better cheaper solution.
Thanks for the help.

I use my black tank flush all the time, when no one is in line. I use it until its clean. usualy because we camp for a month in a row and its the last dump of the season.
if people are in line. I use the flush as it dumps and as the grey runs, but dont make people wait.
On the other hand, Im nor rushing my ass of so someone saves 30 seconds of a wait, and I make mistakes

Funny. Now I do have a question regarding this aerator. When and why is it used? I presume to air out the tank, but should this be something used throughout the off months of camping?

It is marketed as being "useful to vent waste tank during R/V storage."
Every R/V waste tank I've seen in years has a vent already... pipe through the roof.

You can actually hear the "wink, wink" when they wrote that.

I'm calling BS on this statement. The only reason to pay extra for a FHU site is to be able to dump WHENEVER YOU PLEASE WITHOUT MOVING YOUR RIG...period. As others have said in different ways, all sewage pipes lead to the same destination...so why should anyone care? Logic seems a bit difficult for some...

Really? Hmmm...waiting in line vs. dumping anytime without moving your rig? And that's the same? Interesting...

OK, I'll rephrase it. The only reason for ME to pay extra for a FHU site is if I am going to be there for an extended time. I do three trips a year where I am dry camping for eight consecutive days. On those trips I've never had to dump during that time. All the tanks last just fine. Even when I am in a FHU site I don't hook up the sewer hose until I'm ready to leave. So, for me, paying extra for up to eight nights is a waste of money.
Will I ever camp in the same place longer than eight nights? I certainly hope that never happens.

To-MEH-to... To-MAH-to
Leave any time you want without moving your rig and waiting in line to dump ... or stay longer and not move your rig and wait in line to dump. And we can flush to our heart’s content without holding up anyone else.
We are both right. No BS.

After nearly 45 years of RV-camping, I still do not understand why anyone would complain about being held up at the Dump Station. You knew when you signed up that there was a dump station and not full hookups. You knew that there was a possibility of a waiting line when you checked out. You knew that there would be folks who want to take a few extra minutes to flush before leaving the Dump Station. Welcome to the real world of RV-style life.
Relax and try to enjoy the scenery while waiting to dump and flush. We meet a lot of nice people there.

You could have Saved the 3$ Plus the cost of the Ball valve by just "Folding the supply hose over and stopping the flow"! You bought way to many "Do Hickey Thing A Ma Jiggys" Youroo!!

Has anyone actually seen what type of mechanism is used inside of the tank?
