Smile Why so many brands?

Has anyone spent any time wondering why Forest River has so darn many brands? Some of which are identical with the exception of graphics and brand name? The only thing I can figure is that this is a way for different dealers to claim they are selling different brands so as to be "less directly competitive" with other dealers. Does any have any other ideas? Or for that matter, does anyone else even care?

The car dealers used to do the same thing... I think it is to sell more campers. Say you had a Flagstaff 10 years ago... had problems with it.... So you sold it on e- bay. Then you went about a year and REALLY missed going camping... So you swear you'll never own another Flagstaff, then find a Rockwood Fifth wheel you really like.... And the same manufacturer gets your hard earned dollar once again!!! Randy

Another thought, I recently had a slide topper installed by Camping World and they said my slideout needed adjusting. The 2604 is just a month old and Camping World sells other Forest River brands. So, I asked them if they would adjust it under warrenty and they said that ther were not allowed to do it as they did not sell Rockwood brand and "the state of Texas does not allow them to do warrenty work on "brands " they don't sell. So I took it back to the dealer I bought it from and they ordered a new slideout moter.
