Manual slide operation- help needed
I have a 2017 3888FL in which the wiring to operate the slide has burnt and melted some wires. Still waiting for almost a year for the dealer to repair since it is on a permanent site. This is on a cable system, is there a way to retract the slideout?

Can you post a photo of the slide or mechanism?
there ar many different types of slides and slide manufacturers.
All can be manually retracted/extended in some manner but the process id different for each.
More information is needed.
Why not call a mobile tech to come look at it/fix.
Many dealers are worthless.
Welcome to the forum, I see it is your 1st post.

Can't tell you much but will offer suggestions.
As mentioned earlier after this much wait I'd give up on a dealer fix and look for mobile RV repair.
They should be able to show you how to hand crank the slide and possibly fix your wires.
If you post where your trailer is located, others may be able so suggest a local mobile RV repair person.
Good Luck!
I am going to edit your original post to try and give a better subject line so maybe you can get more replies.

I am located in WI and do have a local repair guy that I use for repairs. The unfortunate part is that this is a warranty repair work issue so I have been reluctant to have someone else look at it since the dealer removed the damaged parts already.

Also might help if you post a couple pictures of the outside of the trailer.
One from a distance- a full view.
One of the slide in question.

As long as you get pre-approval from FR and be willing to be reimbursed, you can use a local repair guy.

The slide switches have been repaired, both of them to be exact. The repair tech said there is a rain gutter for the upper slides and apparently a Forest River design flaw, they lay the relay switches in the gutter, which has water in it and shorts out the switch. There is also a tool for opening and closing the slides with a drill located within the slide, good luck finding it when the slide is open. Thanks for all the help.
