Solaire Hybrid

Hello everyone.

I am excited to have found this site. We used to camp a lot when we were
younger then bought a pop-up from a friend and camped in it the last five years. I love the tent experience of my pop-up though my wife prefers some of the amenities of a larger rig. The perfect solution to me is a hybrid. We looked hard at several manufactures and whittled it down to the Solaire 147x and Jayco 17z. The wife preferred most everything about the Solaire and must admit you get a lot of bang for the buck in a similar floor plan and weight. I expect we will be in this trailer for a few years before moving on to a bigger fully enclosed trailer. Anyone out there have any experience with the Solaire hybrids or hybrids in general? I would like to hear of your experiences. Thanks.

We are relative newbiews to hybrids ourselves... we bought our 147x last year mid-season. Your wife and I are of the same cloth... I enjoy camping but I want a bathroom and a kitchen. LOL We had a few issues with our camper as we used it (leak through the AC, converter shorted out, nothing supporting grill rail, and a few other things), but the dealer took care of them. I don't have much advice to give, just that we are very happy with our hybrid TT and are eagerly looking forward to the beginning of the season.

Welcome to the forum!
We liked the Solaire over the Jayco as far as quality.
Purchased in fall of 2013 and have enjoyed the great family time.
This is a great place to find answers and come up with ideas.
Have fun!

Welcome to the forum. You've come to the right place. You are looking at hybrids for the exact reason we bought one, the experience of tent camping with the amenities of a travel trailer.
We don't have a Solaire, so I can speak about them, but a Roo 21SS. We are very happy with it and will probably keep it for 10 years or so until we upgrade to a larger TT.

We have had a Solaris for 2 yrs. love it!
Be careful of your water filter. Ours leaked on our slide out and shorted it out!
We had some issues with trim expanding / contracting and seals on the checker plate.
Our stove also had a burner vibrate off and the oven gas bar fell off
All easily fixed under warranty.
Good luck and have fun!

We had a similar issue with our stove but they fixed it under warranty. A few other issues but all covered under the warranty. Let the camping season begin!
