Surveyor Bunk End Vinyl Tearing

We have an '06 Surveyor with 3 bunks. Two of the bunks are starting to rip or tear on the vinyl strip in the upper corners where the bunk material is attached to the body of the camper. When we were looking at hybrids, we noticed others that had this same problem. The dealer here has fixed these before for around $200 each. I am will to pay this as long as it does not happen again. Any advice or is there possibly another thread on this subject that might help. Thx.

Hi! we have the three pop outs, is that what you have? when we bought ours there was a known issue with this and Forest River replaced ours no charge. Not sure what kind you have though.

Yes, we have the 3 bunks as well. It is a 2006 model so I don't know that they would jump to the idea of replacing at no charge. Might be worth a call though. Thanks for the reply, I was beginning to wonder if no one else had this issue.

Just to let anyone know who looks at this post. I contacted the Surveyor Division of Forest River. They were super helpful and are sending me two new J Channel pieces that I need to repair the bunk ends. Not free of course, but it was only $15/ piece. There number in case anybody is interested is 574-642-3119.

If you don't mind, could you post pics while it's WIP to completion? I wouldn't mind seeing what they're fix is. Thank you.
