What is the button for in this 2015....

Hello,

We are now the proud owners of a Coachman Clipper 2015 16rbd. We are trying to figure out what the metal button is for in the door frame of the bathroom? It is toward the bottom on the right? It pushes in and out but we have no idea what it does. The dealership did not know either. We can't find it in the books. Does anyone know what it is for? Also, there are no bunk end privacy curtains we notices.... what do people put up for privacy since it is a bunk end, there really isn't a "stud" to put a nail/screw in?

Thank you!

DO NOT PUSH IT. No really, is there a latch that retracts with the button pushed?

We kept pushing it can cannot figure it out lol It's actually in the bathroom door jam and IS on the side that the hinges are on. I though it may have something to do with the light or lock if the door closes (as the button would push in when the door closes). We did not have camper plugged into anything, lights were on. As we pushed the buttom we never lost light so i'm guessing it has nothing to do with the battery? I am sure we were running off battery as the outlets were not working but the lights inside and the radio was working. I will take a pic of it when I get home and post it. It's a larger button, almost resembles an EX-large ear plug (if one existed).

A picture will help. I have noticed my lights flickering off and on..... so how many times have you pushed it? Turbs, any effects at your house?

Thank you!
only thing i can guess is that your hybrid is an entry level hybrid and they don't come with them.
many entry level trailers don't come with features that others do, like tv hookups. many times, items that are standard in other trailer lines, are optional or not even available.

but this is the first hybrid line that i've heard of, that doesn't come with privacy curtains.

We JUST brought it home. We pushed that button quite a few times at the dealership walkthrough (when they show you how everything works.. but then things don't work like they should.... like one side of our awning doesn't click shut so their fix was to give us two velcro holders to wrap around the poles... still confused about that, wondering if we push for a new pole since it is brand new/2015)... then we we got home and started cleaning all the metal chips and sawdust.. started pushing it again. I will post pics in a few hours..

Sorry for the cruddy photo, but I do have this pic in my phone of one of the bunkends with NO CURTAINS!... ironically this side is the Queen bed side, but the other side is only a full/double I guess. I haven't measured or tried to fit sheets on either side yet. When we start packing for camping next weekend I will, but during the walk through I asked bed sizes.

--- I just figured we overlooked the privacy curtains. But no, there are none. We do have a cable hook up and antenna on the top of the camper I guess.. it's a Forest River Coachman Clipper 16RBD. I am guessing it's lower-end. But not sure. I know we couldn't afford the Jayco version brand new (like the x17z or something).

If you turn the lights off and push the button will the bathroom light come on? Only thing I can think of that a switch in that location would be for.
I'd push for a new awning pole.

I would absolutely expect a new awning pole. For curtains you could use a long shower curtain spring rod and hang a drape or curtain of the appropriate size from it.

No, the lights are ALL push-in LEDs on the ceiling. There are no switches to turn the lights on or off.

---so after camping over the 4th (first time out with the brand new camper, just bought it and brought it home on June 25), see if anything else is "faulty" and then call to request an order on a new awning pole? The part that you push in on both sides to "snap" it in and then "un-snap" to loosen the poles so you can open them, that is the part that doesn't snap together. Or should I just call tomorrow and ask them to order me a new awning pole? The two service men tried to tell me that most people buy the velcro straps for added support anyhow.

Nearly all "stick and tin"(wood frame/metal siding) trailers are considered entry level, compared to the aluminum frame/filon (fiberglass) sided trailers, because they are cheaper to build.

And the velcro thing, that's BS!
I've been on various Hybrid TT forums for over 10 years and I've NEVER read about such a thing.

bikendan... then I won't tell you that they told us we should bring a 2" ball when we asked (but it needs a 2 inch and something.. can't think of it off the top of my head.... so we did bring one of our 2 inches.. (we have a bunch of different sizes for various snowmobile trailers, bikes, etc) but they made us pay for the ball in the correct size we needed. When I asked for a refund on the card the next day, they said sure, just bring the other ball back and we will refund. Plus, there are a few other issues that I personally had, but I didn't know, we didn't know..... I did email to ask if they are ordering us a pole or what. I was a bit disappointed with the whole experience.

Doesn't look like a switch. Looks like something that keeps pressure on the door when closed to keep it from rattling??

PS. Dealer PDI's tend to be disappointing. You'll get more info from these forums and just plain old investigating while it's parked in your yard.

It's too bad that you didn't come here before you bought the trailer.

I'm thinking the Velcro straps are these.

Asquared, I don't see anything. Did you post a pic? I have a pic in my ambulm now of the bel roe straps. I can't seem to post anymore pics of the button. They are in my album too. I did ask a few questions on here before buying but I was looking at a Wolf Pup. Atthe time, I didn't realize how much improvement there has been on bunkenda/canvas/etc. I had to keep investigating and I went back three times.
