2018 FR 37TSX13 XLR Boost drain hose leaking

So I just brought my camper out of storage, having some work done at the house so we are going to stay in it. I de-winterized it and noticed a hose underneath dripping (see picture) When I winterized it, I took that cap off and it's tight. Blue hose has a steady drip.

Any idea what the blue hose drip could be?

TIA,
Mike

Looks like your fresh water tank over flow hose.

Interesting, I thought I plugged the hose into the city water connection. I'll have to take a look.

Thanks!

What were you attempting to accomplish by sticking an open ended hose into your city water connection?

If your fresh water tank is full causing water to come out the overflow-which it appears- even though you had only hooked to your city water connection then you may have issues with the valve(s) designed to prevent that. Sometimes they get something in them or just plain fail. Quite a number of threads where that’s the culprit.

Yes. Search this site for "check valve" which is the technical term for a one-way valve. Water can come into the faucets from either of two sources: city water or pump-and-fresh-water tank. If you didn't have check valves, pressurized water from one source would come out the other.

One common procedure is:
  • Disconnect city water
  • Open a tap
  • Turn on water pump and pump water through tap to rinse out particle which could be holding check valve open.
  • Turn off pump.
  • Re-connect city water.
  • Turn off tap.

Since you are likely to have filled the fresh water tank, you may wish to drain it before you take a long trip.

"Connected" a better word?

Went home at lunch and turned the water off, turned the pump on and after inspecting the outside I saw water coming from the floor right below the bunk house bathroom. I opened the pump access panel and saw that every time the pump cycle it would shoot water out of a fitting (plastic bubble thing on the pump). I was able to tighten the cap and it stopped leaking. I Wonder if this is the bypass valve and it was drawing air in not allowing it to bypass the tank. I'll check tonight.

Access panel

Glad to here you figured it out. Is that the panel under the bunkhouse, 1/2 bath in the garage area?

I bet the strainer had water in it and froze. Mine did same thing on my last trailer, I just bought new strainer see pic and screwed new clear part back on. I didn’t need the rest of it. At very least I’d take the strainer off and inspect carefully for any cracks, very bad if it decides to blow while camping and flood that cabinet.

So thanks to all that replied. Update: I called FR, spoke to Angie Smiley. She gave me a name and number to a guy named Wendel at Shureflo AKA Pentair. I told him what was happening and he had a guy named Ron contact me.

When Ron called he took some information from me, Gave me a Fedex tracking number and told me a new 55psi pump would be delivered tomorrow. I will install it myself (we are living it now why our house gets wall to wall porcelain wood tile.)

You cant beat service like that!

In post #1, you showed a pic of ‘a hose’ and mentioned that it was dripping. In post #3, you wrote “I plugged the hose into the city water connection.” I didn’t see a distinction between the two types of hoses... and, yes, “connected” is a better word. I had the overflowing FW tank yesterday myself.

I like that new pump report.

Got the new pump delivered and installed, drained fresh water tank and all is good. Pump took 30 min to install, also put a new strainer and installed Pump Converter Winterizer Kit.
