Our Central vac had 2 sweep ports, but no interior hose connection. Only the hose connection out side on the vac unit itself. Contacted FR, who told us that's the way is was supposed to be that way. Though our model number showed an inside port. After 2 months of going back and forth, we decided to go to InterVac directly. They told us that we should indeed have an inside port. It cost us $35 to buy the parts needed. Out parts list was: The port its self; a hose "Y"; 4' of hose; 4 hose adapters. Also, 4' feet of small gauge speaker or bell wire. Our XLR Nitro 405 has a sweep port on the bottom step facing (on the left. I chose to mount the hose vac port on the right side due to the frame work under the stair case. Remove the vents to gain access to the installed hoses and the wiring. Drill a 2 3/4" hole with a hole saw, at 4" in from the right wall, and centered between the floor and the center step. Notch a 1" X 1" square at the bottom of the hole. I cut sweep port hose at put in the "Y" to connect the port. Also, check the other installed "Y" and make sure it is not backwards like mine was. All the fittings are screw on and slip on (no glue). Connect the wires in with the leads connected to the 2 yellow wires coming out of vac unit, with the factory wiring clips. Then the other ends to the vac port terminals. Screw in the port and replace the vents and your done. The whole project too me less than an hour. Works great.
