Hope you got one with the second door option. We actually use the side door into the garage as much, if not more that the front door.

Yes we got the second door option, I seen one on the Internet with one door and I was like what the heck I hope they didn't change them! When we called the dealership they said it was an option and the one they had coming in had the second door........thank God! It also has the black tank flush, L.E.D awning lights, and the power awning (which I'm not sure if I like) because there is no adjustment for different angles that I can see.......in case if its raining I would slope it to one side to let the water run off and this thing just sticks straight out. I also had them put on a power lift jack, so much better than cranking!

No worries on the power awning. There are thumb screws on both arms to adjust the angle. When the awning comes out its straight out. You'll need to pull down either end and tighten the knobs at what ever angle you want it. Just remember to loosen them before you go to pull it in Sounds like you got a nice set up.

Thanks RFK, I will have to give it a try! There are still a few things I want to go over yet, only had it since last Thursday and it was a busy weekend away from home.

Spiker51, congratulations on the new 27 HFS. We have had ours for a while and just got back from another weekend trip. We like it
We have looked at modifing the dinette. It is not comfortable and the table is way to wobbley. We leave it in the bed position most of the time and our bull dog uses it to nap. It does not seem right to have a slide just for a dog bed . In another thread, 27 HFS Removing Dinette "Rotech" posted pictures of his modification. That looks like the way we will go, but there is only the two of us. As far as resale value the futon may be a better idea. The futon djmac1964 posted may be a good solution at least the dog would be happy and someone else could use it to.

Glad to help if I can. I have the 2013 XLR 27 HFS with the extreme weather package, power tongue 4kw generator power awning and some other stuff. And with help from friends and a lot of info from this forum we're really having a lot of fun. Let me know if you run into something i can help with

We have the 24HFS because we could not get our RZR to fit in a 9' garage. Wished it was a foot longer. My question for you guys is what brand of weight distribution hitch are you using and what weight? I am pulling with a 2013 Tundra. Thanks.

Bpenn. I have the Blue Ox Sway Pro for my 27 hfs I can't remember the exact rating but I believe it was at 12000. I do know the hitch set up is the same and the weight difference comes from the bars Towing with a 3/4 ton Chevy with the factory sway control Real nice set up and I can adjust the chains depending on how much I put in the garage.

Bpenn, mine is a Reese setup I think it is a 10,000 setup. Just like RFK said, I just set the chain links depending on if I was hauling ATV's or not........that was with my 24HFS I haven't been out loaded with the 27HFS. I really didn't notice any difference towing either TH, but having a diesel TV (2011 F250) makes a world of difference! I thought about getting a F150 EcoBoost with MaxTow about a year ago when fuel prices started climbing but I just could not get myself to do it. Once you have a diesel it's hard to go back!

I also use a sway control arm too, I don't feel I need it but a little bit more trailer security won't hurt anything!

When we got our first camper back in 2002 it was a used Scotty and this is what the dealership sold us and I really have never looked at any other setups or payed any attention to the weights (oops!) looks like I am still alright for now though! 12,000 weight rating!

That is the same set up I use. It worked fine once I added the friction anti sway bar.
