Cleaning the roof?

We have a 2018 29hfs that is kept in an enclosed shop. We are pretty picky about the way things are kept up, so in saying that, what is the best way to clean and condition the roof on our camper?

I use Spic and Span liquid and lots of water 2X a year. Maybe need some mineral spirits if you have parked under a sappy tree. Wipe off the mineral spirits with rubbing alcohol then the Spic and Span.

We have a local auto detail supplier near by. I buy the 5 gallon buckets of their version of the Simple Green concentrate. Mix me up a bucket with a little car wash soap and as rsdata said, LOTS of water.

Keep the sides of the camper very wet or whatever you use may streak down the outer walls.

Dawn dish soap for me with a medium bristle brush. Works great.

Dicor Roof Cleaner and Sealant. Makes it slick and seals the roof up.

I just tried Awesome Cleaner from the dollar store. It did a nice job on a roof that was very dirty. I used it full strength with a bristle brush. I read the bottle after using it (of course), and it says to dilute it. I didn’t finish the job so when I continue, I’ll try a 5:1 mix. It’s only $1 a bottle but I still need sealer.

The Dicor sounds like a one step process, so I might give it a try. I didn’t get any sealer yet.

Is that one product or two separate products?

Apologies. It was from Camco. Yes, it is 2 seperate products, that come in a kit.

I've had great success with it.

From Amazon: Camco 41451 Pro-Tec Rubber Roof Care System

Most cleaners that will do a good job on the roof will strip the wax off your sides. Because of that I use a cotton mop and mop bucket on a folded up beach towel, clean it like a floor in our house. I usually use a bleach/water mix (but may use other mild cleaners if needed) followed by plain water mop rinse and follow up with 303 protectant (carefully as 303 makes the roof a little slick). By using a well rung out mop I get no runoff on the coach sides and does a great job as well.

This!!!

With any roof cleaner/treatment, this is a great suggestion. AND, you'll find that you need to constantly rinse your sides when washing, or the chalk and dirt will stick and stain the side.

Bottom line..a GOOD cleaner and GOOD protectant (love the 303) will do great, regardless of the brand name.
