Dometic air conditioner

Air conditioner went out with electrical fire smell. Opened up control box found two connections with ground fastened to neutral ( white) wire and ground from unit hanging unconnected.

Have too remove rear air conditioner directional cover from unit to be able to access control box for rear unit to verify it is wired correctly before using it again.

It's hard to tell much about the pictures except the burnt plastic piece. What part actually caused the piece to burn?

Burnt anything inside an electrical box is not a good thing. The ground wire from the incoming power line being connect to the white incoming wire and then finally getting moved around during trailering and coming into contact with the black wire caused a short. Putting the family to sleep in there with such a hookup is questionable.

Thanks for the post. I found all three connections on top of the compressor burnt and corroded. I had to put new connectors on and some White lithium to prevent any further damage.
