Fuel station not dispensing fuel

I am in the process of going through our "new to us" used 2018 29KW and I can't get any fuel to come out of the fuel hose. I checked to make sure the pump ran before I bought the camper; it is running as I can clearly hear it. I put about a gallon of gas in it and nothing comes out.

Am I doing something wrong? How long should I have to hold the pump handle open to draw fuel from the tank? I gave it a good 20-30 seconds and nothing.

Does it need more gas in the tank to make it pump? I didn't want to add any more because I didn't want fuel in there that I can't get out.

Any inputs or suggestions welcome.

Thanks, Collin

Are you asking about 5.5kw Onan Generator, mobile fuel station not dispending fuel?

I would think you need more than a gallon. Also check underneath the trailer and make sure the hose is not kinked behind the storage area. Sometimes the extra hose gets pushed out the rear of the compartment and folds.

No, I don't have a generator. It is the pump for fueling toys.

Thanks, I just got the same answer about needing more fuel form the service guys where I bought the camper. I will check the hose for kinks also.

I would suggest putting a good fuel stabilizer in with the gas. I do it every time I add fuel to the tank. I also exercise the generator and the fuel pump at least once a month. I put the nozzle in the fill opening and run it for several minutes. I had issues with the pump rotors swelling and the pump not working. I had to removed the gears and sand them slightly to get the pump to work again. Once I started to exercise the pump regularly, no more problems.

Congratulations on the new RV.

No generator to worry about but I definitely plan on keeping stabil the tank.

So I did get it to pump fuel but not consistent. I think I still need to add more gas. It seems like there is a lot of vacuum building up inside the tank. With the pump running I can hear the tank making noise from the vacuum pressure. Should I vent the cap as I pump fuel out if it? I can't find any kind if user's manual for a fuel station.

The filler cap should vent automatically. It may not be working. I'll say though, when I pump a lot of fuel the tank does make noise. Like to the point it startled me at first. Our tank is steel so when it moves it is loud.
I do not believe the puck-up is at the true bottom of the tank either. I put 15 gallons in and got 12 out. I understand that the flat bottom of a 30 gallon tank will allow a couple gallons to only take up an inch or two though.
