Generator adapter cord

OK so I purchased this rv adapter cord from Camping World to hook my 30amp rv cord to my 3000iu Honda Generator. The cord appears to be what I ordered, but the package insert does not describe what I ordered. It says converts a 50 amp male to a 30 amp female? Hope you can see the photos. DH says that it is the right cord and if it were 50 amp as the package says it would have 4 holes for prongs? Since I never believe DH and only believe what the forum says, can anyone confirm by looking at the cord that it is the right one.

Well, it appears to me that what you got was correct for the packaging.

However, I am not sure what you ordered is what you expected to get.

This adapter connects to the Honda's port and adapts it to your camper's 30 amp shore power cord.

If you have a 50 amp service camper, then you would still need a 50 amp female to 30 amp male adapter.

Great that is exactly what I needed. To connect my 30 amp rv power cord to my generator. I was just confused because the packaging said "converts a 50 amp male to 30 amp female plug". Was not sure where the 50 amp came into play with this particular adapter cord.
thanks

I think I must be misinterpreting the package wording.

What you got will connect your 30 amp rv to the Honda. The 4 prong your DW mentioned and Lou states should not be required UNLESS you have 50 amp service to your rv.

No, not at all. The generator's port is rated to deliver up to 50 amps at 120 VAC. With a porperly wired adapter the paired generators could power a 50 amp camper; just with a different model adapter cord.

Perfect. Thanks for the help. Heading out for our 4th of July trip soon and wanted to make sure this would work. Could not test it on the TH because it is already at our holiday destination.
