I have a 2018 XLR Hyper Lite 29HFS ... 30amp with the AC upgraded to the 15k BTU ... anyone know what size generator I need to purchase to run the whole camper?

Any help would be appreciated ... thanks

I wouldn’t go less than 3300 Watts.

I have the 2018 30HDS with the same A/C. I got the Champion Inverter 3500 Daul fuel with electric start. It works great used it at the NASCAR race in July.

I use a Champion 3100 Watt. It will run the 15K A/C, some lights and the tv, but I have to run my fridge and water heater on propane when using the generator.

I use two Yamaha's 2000s in parallel when I want to run the AC. For charging batteries and such I run just one keeps the noise down and fuel use to min.

That was the reason I went with the 3500 plus the dual fuel. I found it at Cabelas for 915.00 with electric start. Runs everything just fine

Do you have the Champion 3500 inverter or the 3400? I only ask because I can only find the 3400 inverter

I have the 3500 inverter dual fuel. I got it at Cabelas with free shipping. The only other place I saw it was Camping World for much more.

The 3100 wouldn't run the 13.5 on our old trailer, but a Yamaha 3000 would.

it’s hard to know exactly what you mean by running your ‘whole camper’, but I suppose since it’s a 30amp coach, with a 30amp shore power cord, only up to 30amps would be needed, as far as maximum operational output for the generator.

I would suggest that 30amps equates to about a 3,600 watt generator, or slightly higher, with a 30amp RV outlet(for sure!)...

that could be a single ‘large’ generator, or a dual setup, like the Honda EU2000i and companion, small and light, hooked up in parallel when you need ‘all’ 30 amps.
