Larger Wheels & Tires

I asked Forest River via their website and am waiting for a reply. I thought I'd ask here since I've gotten great info over the years on this forum and y'all respond faster.

I have a 2014 XLR 27HFS with the stock 15x6 wheels and ST225/75R15 tires. The tires are about 8.75" wide & 28.3" high. I am wondering if I can go to a 16" wheel. The tires I would put on them are 9.37" wide & 31.6" high.

It looks like there is room in the wheel well for them, but I'm not sure I am thinking of all the ramifications. I know when I hit bumps the leaf springs will compress a bit (currently 6.5" from tire to wheel well), and when I take corners the tires flex/cant a little (currently 5.5" to side of wheel well) - but I don't know how much.

Larger tires

As long as you have room there should be no reason why they wouldn’t work. I have had larger wheels/tires on two of my 5th wheels. I now have a 2020 Chaparral 30BHS and there was an option for 16” but came with 15” as standard equipment. I changed my 16” from my previous 5th wheel. They work fine plenty of room. Your trailer may have also had an option for 16”. Good luck.
