first rule of planning mods; do not share with your better half until its finished. Same rule apply at home!! Sometimes I wish I couldn't even hang a picture right; know what I mean? As far as the lack of counter space in the hyperlites; you can tell a man designed the trailer with no eye to for the kitchen. The 30HDS is better.

Dimension for slide in countertop by cabinets is 20" wide by 16" deep
Shelf above couch in slide is 20" wide by 5" deep

Drop down countertop in kitchen next to stove is 16"wide by 24" deep

I re used trim that was already on table that got cut up

- I want the a solid door - pocket door and have already purchased parts needed just need time to install - I think by end of month

I had similar ideas, but wanted my table. I bought a pre made laminate at Lowes and cut it down to make a pull out counter, stove cover with cutting board, and fold down counter. I used fold up beverage holders with arms to keep spills down at the couch.

Not a perfect match, but no one has noticed yet. The cup holders fold up when not in use so they don't get in the way at all. Bought 'em on Amazon.

I went with soft close drawer slides on the pull out counter. It hasn't come open at all during travel and it stays open when parked. We added closing it to our pack and leave checklist because if it's out, you really wouldn't want to close the slide!

Draw pull, 4' pre laminated counter, eve support, drawer slide, and hinge came from lowes. Also in the first pic you might notice I swapped out the faucet for a nice residential pull out, also from lowes. The cutting board over the cooktop is from blood bath and beyond.

Thanks for idea to split the sink cover. That will happen tonight!

the fold up counter looks great just like PH's did you get the folding bracket at lowes also ? i need to get on this mod as counter space is non existence in the 29.
i wish i could do it at the end of the counter past the sink but the controls for lights awning etc are there . i really don't use the door there only when bike is loaded when on the road . otherwise it's always the garage entry door . when the bike is out the garage serves as a office and mud room

Actually, looking back at my lowes app, I think I bought the leaf support at the local do it best hardware store. But it's the same as the OP used. I only used one because I used a much shorter counter. It was rated to support 40lbs as I recall.

I thought about installing over the switches at entry but it also blocks bedroom access. And I use that entry door too.

Ooops. I can't type. I meant that I thought mine is rated for 400lbs. Not 40. 40 wouldn't support a good rack of ribs... let alone any other good size racks for whatever Northstar is talking about.
However, when I went home last night and pulled out the second one I bought I discovered that there's no weight rating on it. It's a Stanley Item 1956. I just remember when I installed them on my woodshop foldup router table extension I remember 800lbs. So I figured one would be half.

For Play Harder
I am trying to put add shelf storage and your fold up counter and slide out shelf are awesome. I have purchased and laminated the pieces and have three hardware. My question is how did you get into the narrow slot for the slide out to bolt the drawer slide in. Did you remove the bottom of the cabinet above that slot?
Thanks

I wedged two pieces of aluminum plates (predrilled to match mounting holes on slider) one above counter space as a spacer and one below for extra support

Used one of the predrilled plates as a template to drill from under cabinet up - then removed and drilled larger holes for easier alignment of the 2 sliders

Mount slider to back of shelf first to get where to align bottom bracket Click image for larger version

I thought that was how you did it until I got home from Lowe's with the 16" drawer slides and I can't figure out how to separate the part that attaches to the shelf from the bottom. Is there a trick to this or did I just get the wrong drawer slides? I think they were the only type Lowe's had. Thanks for the reply.

PH, I like your photo staging ... Corona 2016 ... bet its gone now.

I need to add at least the shelf on the sink / cooktop cabinet. I don't have a matching table top to cut up, but might be able to come up with something close enough.

Look at the ready made laminate counter sections in stock at Lowes. That's where I got mine because we use our table. It's not an exact match but no one's noticed the difference yet.

a four foot section was like $80 and I was able to cut enough out of it for the slide out counter, the flip up counter and the cutting board cover for the stove.
