Mystery switch
So I brought home the XLR Hyperlite over the weekend, DW and I have been busy repacking all our stuff into it--at first, it seemed like we had less storage in the XLR than we did in the Salem, but after packing everything in and realizing we had several cabinets empty, looks like we have more. Which is cool. But then there's the mystery switch...
So I figured out what all the buttons and switches do...except for one! There's what looks like a light switch (at least its the same type of switch as all the other light switches) and it's in the kitchen right next to the panel indicator, on the wall next to the stove. Anyone have any idea what it does? I turn it "on" and I don't see or hear anything. Ideas??? TIA!

My inside kitchen light and bathroom lights have a wall switch and also a switch on the overhead light itself. Maybe yours is likewise.

We have a switch in our kitchen for the fuel pump of the on board fuel tank. Maybe this is your mystery switch.

Or a drivers side light outside? May have to check it at night. Or tank heaters? Odd that it has no label or obvious use. Good luck.

I have the switch there also, mine puts power to the fuel pump. I guess a security feature. It needs to be on before I can go outside and turn on the pump with the switch next to the fuel tank

Ok, so the consensus is that it's a master for the fuel pump. So my next question, to those of you that have the onboard fuel tank: is your "outside" switch a momentary one? I have a momentary rocker switch right next to my fuel gauge. I turned on the master switch inside, then went out and pushed this rocker, and I didn't hear anything. Of course, there's no gas in the tank yet, but I thought I'd at least hear something. Does this sound like the setup on other hfs models? I should note that this unit has the "generator prep" but no generator, and no fuel station, so I guess it's possible that these features aren't wired up yet, or there's a fuse that needs to be installed, etc. Thoughts? Thanks!

Yup, mine is a momentary switch, once the inside switch is on, one tap turns the pump and fuel guage on, two taps is off. I have the generator and the fuel station so without the fuel station I don't believe you'll be hearing anything. The generator comes with its own fuel pump

X2 , turn inside switch on. Push outside rocker switch and can hear fuel pump start. Push again and it turns off pump. I'm only guessing but without the fuel station maybe the inside Switch sends 12v to the outside switch which then only sends power to the gauge. Since you don't have any fuel the gauge would read empty.

You guys rock. I'm starting to think that maybe not getting the fuel station was a mistake. Can one of you post a pic of your fuel station? Like where is it, how big/how much space does it take up, etc? Thanks!

Ok, maybe not gonna get me featured on great photographers of the world, but the fuel compartment has the nozzle / hose and is 2 feet from the back of the XLR on the drivers side. 9 inches tall, 20 inches long and 12 inches deep This should give you an idea of how it's set up

RFK, you did a great job on the photos. I only use the fuel station to fill the lawn tractor and for generator fuel.

Thank you guys, great pics. I think I might have to have my dealer order the parts from FR and have that put in at my next trip in. For some reason, I had pictured that it was going to be inside, taking up space, etc. Lesson learned, I'm a dummy.

OMG!!!! I wondered what that switch was for, AND why my fuel pump DID NOT work!!! Been carting around Jugs of fuel, because its summer and the dealer is busy.... GRRRRR!
I should have listened to the wife, when she asked... "did you look on the forums about the fuel station not working" ... DOH!!!

Wait till it's all dark and then turn on the switch. It could be night light in the hall or step area. I have a small LED light on my steps going up to the bed room. You only see it at night.
