Recessed ceiling LED puck lights are crap!

Anyone else experiencing poor longevity (shouldn't even use this word actually!) in their recessed LED puck lights?

I mean they don't even have 10 hrs on some before they start to flicker like a strobe light then go out completely. Out of my 30 or so in my unit, more than half are toast.

Forest River, Please HELP!?!?!?! My dealer is just "dark" on this subject.

Contact your dealer. FR has acknowledged that some of these lights came from a defective batch, and they will replace them.

The dealer should take care of them under warranty. If not, contact FR warranty for help.

Dealer came to my house and replaced the first two that went out within a week of ownership. Problem is, that took 3 weeks to get the warranty OK from FR. SO by the time they showed up 3 more had gone out. I told the dealer we were going out West for a Month and that kind of wait to get these replaced was no good. I ordered some on eBay to replace those. But, we have more out again.

They definitely are no good, I would say all should be replaced. My dealer can only get ones n twos on warranty claim at each defect. At that rate, it will be a replacement trickle ongoing forever.

My dealer refused to request replacements from FR unless they installed them. The dealer’s service department is totally useless, so I just let the factory warranty run out and then contacted the manufacturer myself. They had several bad batches of lights with failure of the solder. They sent me the new lights free of charge - we had 28 of 30 that had gone bad to varying extents in the first year after purchase.

They are fire hazards

When we were shopping for our 2015 Silverback 33IK, they had one on the lot. Dealer and my wife and I walk in. He turns on all of the lights so we can walk through. We're standing in the kitchen area and our eyes start burning, then we caught a whiff of something wrong. Open the door to the bedroom, smoke comes billowing out. One of the puck lights over the head of the bed was melting! Pretty impressive. Now, until I have a chance to replace them all, we limit how long they are on. So, if anyone has suggestions for good replacements, please provide as much info as possible.

My dealer says the same; "they" have to replace them or FR doesn't give them the warranty credit for even the lights themselves. Good tip on the factory direct, did they just send you the entire amount that were in your coach?

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Almost four years and no problems yet with the lights on my 2015 320RS that I took delivery of in March of 2014. I had actually ordered a 2014 from the factory and was pleasantly surprised when in came in as a 2015. I would like to have a couple of extras on hand and I've never seen them out of the ceiling. Would someone who has purchased one from Amazon be so kind as to post the link or part number? Thanks.

That dealer is giving you BS.

Several times I've done the work, called my dealer and indicated what was done so they could file a claim. They send me a gift card to a steak house every so often for my efforts.

I have a 2018 Forest River Hyper Lite 30hds. The lights were flickering and dealer didn't know which ones they were. Called Forest River warranty and I got to talk to a rep who said they got a bunch of bad ones. He spent a week changing lights that were on the lot. They were going to send them to the dealer or me. They shipped them to me and I swapped them out. Not hard to do. Hope this helps.

Yes, they did. Sent me 30 new fixtures and shipped them 2-day at no charge. I told them I could reuse the glass lens but they sent those, too. Very responsive.

We purchased a 2018 Sandpiper in June and on our second trip out in August, we had a power problem. We took the RV back to the dealer for that fix and they also replaced a couple of lights that had gone out. After we got it back two weeks later, we were on our first trip and we had 4 lights go out. Called the dealer, they shipped us 4 new lights. DH replaced them, but we have had another one go out in the time it took us to fix them. Another call to the dealer, then we will see what happens from there. Our dealer - Holman Motors in Batavia, OH has been great so far.

Did you give them your VIN & model#, and/or how many lights you needed?, or did they know what your model took and just send you replacements for all the pucks.??

My coach has 2 different size pucks throughout. Man, like 30 of them!
