Satelittle TV..HELP

We purchased a 300x12 XLR in November. We also purchased a Tailgater and box for dish tv. Using the cable wiring connections outside the trailer, we are unable to view TV??? If we run a cable straight from the Tailgater, through the garage door to the cable box..we get TV! Does anyone have troubleshooting tips to try before we head out on our trip next week! Thanks!

If it is like my xlr you have a cable connection, no satellite connection. Your connection inside is going through a splitter which will not work without modification.

This is what I did to my BIL's RV to get his Sat to work.

You tried both connections, right? Just in case they reversed the connection..

Guess it's time to trace cables. On mine, the black cable was for sat and the grey for cable. Also had grey for ant. Had to reconnect everything at splitter/amp to get the right cable going to the right connection.

Thats what we were hoping to avoid...maybe its time to take it back to the dealership and have them do it? Thanks for the input/suggestions...happy camping!

Only takes a few minutes to pull that splitter/amp out of wall and see which cables go where. If you can see on the outside the color of the sat input coax, then see if it goes to the aux/sat connector on back of faceplate. Mine was connected to one of the connections on the splitter/amp, so it had to be moved.

i took mine to dealer for other things and OTA not working. Dealer said no problem found, so I still ended up fixing it myself.

TV

Your unit has a powered antenna booster. There is a on/off button and a green LED for the booster on the antenna plate in the space for a TV in your garage. Press the button to turn off the booster and your Tailgater should work.

Does yours have a HDMI cable for TV in the garage? Mine does and I don't know what it is for.

cable in garage

I went and looked after I posted my first note. Mine is a HDMI cable too. Thanks for the reply.

I found this in another thread. It isn't XLR specific but it seem right.

Original Question

Best guess on how to make a SAT dish work...

Turn off antenna booster,

connect SAT dist to SAT jack on outside,

connect with coax jumper SAT jack in garage to SAT receiver,

Connect HDMI cable to SAT reciver (out to TV),

set TV for correct input,

watch Auburn beat FLA ST
