TV Antenna on XLR Hyper Lite

Is the Antenna on the XLR Hyper Lite (30 HDS) supposed to rotate?

There is a knob in the bedroom that supposedly rotates it but it takes way too much effort and even then the knob only moves an extremely small distance (1/4 to 1/2 inch).

Assuming it is supposed to rotate, why would it be frozen in that one position?

Thanks

You have to pull down on the ring to rotate it.

X2... crank it up... pull down on that ring and turn towards the station you want. Turn it back where it was and crank down before driving off.

Mine is also stuck and won't rotate. My repair guy has to go up there and assess.

One thing the guy in the video doesn't mention is that not only are the two arrows on that crank dial to line up the antenna for putting it back down, but on the part that you grab and pull down to turn it, that arrow is pointing in the direction that the antenna is aimed.

If you don't have a built-in signal finder, there are some apps for this, but a much better solution is a signal meter ($35 at Camping World):

Which year is your RV?

I think those RV's come with the King Jack antennas. If so, there's a small button on the side of the knob that you have to press in order to rotate the unit. It's small and at the base of the knob so it's easy to miss.

Look at the photo. It's number 4/6.

Hope this helps.

Yea I have the other model that was in the original video. My guy will fix it. Lucky for me is that I store my RV adjacent to his shop!!! I would only venture up on the roof of my 29hfs with a 16 foot a type ladder. Im an anesthesiologist at a major trauma center and we do a hefty business trying to put people back together who fell from such heights. It seems the older you get the stupider u get ( im 67 so im aware of the urge to do it yourself....not ! )

You did crank it all the way up before trying to turn it, Didn't you. With those crank up antennas, they'll usually hit something unless they're cranked up.

Yup it goes up and down easy but won't rotate. But it's probably just some installation glitch. Otherwise the quality control on the rig is quite good. I bought mine from Jeff coon'srv in the Midwest online and had it delivered in NorCal. Everything other than that works fine. The long screen on the slide was missing and they promptly sent me one out via the mail. After one session at camping world trying to get a reasonable purchase price I swore off setting foot in such a local spot. It was gutsy doing such a deal on line but of late I buy a whole lot of stuff that way. I just bought a commensal e Enduro mountain bike online ( I did meet the head cheese at sea otter in Monterey. ) But u can't do this kind of stuff without someone around who can fix it . Like I said I have the world's greatest RV mechanic nearby.

This is True

On our 29HFS All you have to do is push on the knob and turn.

That did it. You push up and rotate clockwise.

Appreciate everyone's input.

Mine was super tight and hard to turn...

I just took a screwdriver and slightly loosened the screws inside in the ceiling and now it turns easily.

Probably was tightened in the factory with a cordless drill/screwdriver and was just overtightened.

My RV guy fixed it in minutes. Rotates fine. No idea what exactly the magic performed but he didn't even charge me.
