Water filter

Would you put a water filter at the inlet of the fresh water or install one at the kitchen sink that just filters a extra faucet?

I have had them in both places, I think when all said and done the whole house filter was the winner. If you use a filter for drinking water only then you will need a seperate faucet for that item. Just another thing to winterize. Remember you can have the whole house filter either outside the unit or installed inside.

Better to filter the whole trailer. Like that you will have also the basin in the bathroom that will get filtered. The one in the bathroom is important also since we brush our theeth and rince our mouth there. You can get a unit at Home depot which is very similar than the one that comes with the newer FR products.

Filter all the water that gets pumped through your camper. It can catch sediment or other particles that potentially can harm your water heater or valves.

The whole house filter is made by Watts. The model number is Watts premier WH LD and the bar code is 0 9935 1 86400 3. This unit comes complete with 2 extra filter cartridges and is almost the same that Forest Rivers is installing in their newer trailer. Home depot is selling it for aprx 40$

I have decided on both since I will be making ice in a portable unit. the outside unit for the sand and sediment and the extra faucet for the level 4 filter as I have a dog and a ice maker and own a bar and level 1 outside filters do not pass my inspection of my ice machine at the bar so why do it for myself. Level 3 at a minimum. as for the bathroom I have used bottled water in MX might just bring a cup with me rather than run a line. but with a level 1 outside might just see what it is like.
