This is something I should know having had my XLR 27hfs for a season and a half. But I don't. I noticed an on off switch on my Suburban hot water heater. I've always ran it on propane. Does that switch mean that I have an electric option or does this switch just turn on the electric pilot. It's been in the on position since I bought the trailer. Thanks in advance. I get great advice and tips on this forum. It's saved me tons of money and headaches.
The switch is for the electric heating element. If you had the RV hooked to ac power at any time without water in the heater, the element is burned out.

Don’t feel bad we were told ours was propane only then I found that switch as well. In our car we had to two things to actually switch to electric - aside from making sure it was full - flip that switch to on as well as close the breaker inside.
If you have both and the breaker is off you may not have burned it out. If the breaker is on and did the items listed in the above post it is probably burned out.
They go pretty quick when no water on electric heating.
