Wheel bearings

I have a 2012 xlr toyhauler and want to know what the procedure is for repacking the wheel bearings if anyone has done it ?

I just repacked mine. We have a Tandem axle 2016 toyhauler. Wheel off ground and use grease gun and squirt grease in bearing with wheel spinning until you see grease come back through the cap. There is a grease fitting at your wheel hub behind a little cap. Remove cap. Do this seasonally. I used two tubes

My problem was my zerks on two of my axels had unscrewed themselves.
Luckily i found them in the grease and reinstalled them.
All good now.

If your bearings have never been removed, cleaned and repacked, you should repack them. If you use the EZ LUBE feature BUT use a different type of grease that’s not compatible with what the factory or a PO used, it can cause serious issues. The other issue with bearing buddies etc, is that if you push too much grease into them they can push the rear seal out.
New bearings typically are around $50/ wheel, simply remove the old ones, choose your grease, pack and install. Make sure you make a note of the grease you used and buy an extra tube or 2 so you have it on hand.
If you take your camper to a dealer, and you repacked your bearings make sure you make it clear you do not want them to grease them as part of any “maintenance” routine.
