XLR hyperlite 3016 backup camera wiring

Good Day. Just picked up our 2020 xlr hyperlite 3016 yesterday and installed a halo view wireless camera rd7.

The 3016 is prewired for a Furrion. All went great except the power chord coming out of trailer for the camera is always on. Dealer said it would only be on if running lights were on.

I am just curious if this is standard now and I need to tap into my tail light or if this trailer was wired weird.

The connections and hook were very easy.

Thanks

Chris

Chris,

First off welcome to the forum. I had the same issue with the new 2018 29hfs I purchased. I started a thread on it which shows how I resolved this issue to my satisfaction. Reading different posts on this topic I have seen where the power source has come from different places as well as various resolutions to suit the owner. Since you should be under warranty, you might contact FR and ask them where the power source comes from for your specific model/year and then devise a solution to meet your needs. In my case FR sent me a matching switch for the garage area and new switch plate so I could switch the source power on/off. I'll try to add a link to my thread and hopefully it will work. Good luck with your solution and let us know how you resolved it.
