Removing heater duct vent covers

I need help on how to remove round vent covers. I see the three open slots, but not sure how it comes off. We have a Shockwave 2013 28skd. Heater not working, so I need to remove it and take to shop. Any help appreciated. Everything I have read says the heater needs to be removed for service. I thought I could save by at least taking it out myself. Thanks

I popped off the slotted cover then reached in and grabbed the inner part and pulled it out. Then unhooked the hose and was good to go.
I re-routed the supply hose to another part of the rig.

If you talking about the starter collars at the furnace, they twist in....

So ya'll are saying these covers will pop off if I flip hard enough with a flat screw driver! These are the brown slotted vent covers. Thanks

On ours, the center rotating ( directional slots) just pops off via a center pin. Once the center rotating piece is out, the mounting ring has 3 screws.

I had to pull a furnace once because the control board failed BUT I didn't have to remove any duct vent covers.

Are you sure the furnace must be taken in for repair? Have you asked for help here? Maybe someone knows how to solve your issue without removing the furnace.

Fuse is good. Heater worked in April, but have only recently tried to use it. When turning thermostat to heater and raising temp setting, nothing is happening. Fan does not come on and there are no clicking sounds of igniter striking. Zip! After checking online, i thought it might be the sail switch. Note, my frig is presently on gas setting and stove works fine. So it is getting gas. Thanks

The furnace should have a fairly large grill, inside the rv, mine is wooden, 4 screws,about 15X18. Remove that and access the heater. Mine had 2 mounting screws, some wires and the gas supply line. I removed the "hoses" from the heater; didn't have to mess with the rotating ducts. You tube has a video on almost anything try it.

Before you pull the furnace, pull the fuse for the furnace wait a minute and reinstall and try again. The furnace has a lockout feature if it failed to ignite several times. It will not start. This will reset it.

I'm confused as to why you'd need to remove the heater duct outlet trim/cover to remove the furnace. You should be removing the duct from the furnace not the duct and outlet from the walls?

As for the heater itself, have you checked for 12v volts at the furnace?
Do you own a multimeter and know how to use it?

Thanks 5picker. The clamps that hold ducts on have the screws facing outside of trailer. Must have been installed before outside walls constructed. By removing vent covers, I was hoping to obtain enough wiggle room to access screws to loosen clamps. Yes, I have multimeter and will check for voltage. On the road to TX now. Running the a/c as I type. Showed heater installed to mechanic before we left and he thinks probably clogged gas line at valve. Heater was working fine back in April,but need to know for sure before removing. Thanks again. Will update when problem solved.

Thanks Biker, Witch Doctor, and Mr. Dan for your comments. This is a Suburban SF30Q unit. Can only be repaired upon removal. No outside access panel.

Thanks Pdqparalegal1. Yes, vent cover would normally not need to come off. If you see my answer above you will see why I was trying to remove them. I might try to use a flat screwdriver and see if I can flip the clamps off the heater outlets before messing with vent covers. However, to be honest, I now really want to know how they come apart. Just curious. Thanks again to everyone's help. Most appreciated.
