Thin flooring in a toy hauler?

Just wondering if all toy haulers are now made with such thin flooring material (linoleum-like stuff) that tears so easily! We just bought a 2021 26 Shockwave and just love it with that exception. Ours on the lot has about 8 holes that warranty will take care of but I'm thinking with that many, patching it seems like a bad idea and a total replacement in the main kitchen/toyhauling area is the way to go with something a bit more durable.... We owned a 2006 Attitude and a 2015 Rubicon and both had better flooring than this. What are all your experiences with it?

Welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. With the push to make rigs that can be towed by light vehicles things like flooring have changed. Good luck with the fixes

I have not been super happy with the durability of the flooring in my unit either. I've looked at a few options but I think i will just get a small indoor/outdoor carpet to roll up/out as needed. I'm just not willing to add the extra weight or a new layer of flooring.

Yes, adding a layer would add weight so probably not the best thing to do. The dealer has to repair all the holes in ours so it will be interesting to see what they do. Probably patch is my guess so I hope with that many, it won't look like a mess when done. We also have rugs so that covers most.

If i was spending my money i wouldn't except a patch job i would request all new flooring or find a different unit.i belive until people start refusing that the industry standards are not going to improve.( i know there are no standards)

flooring

i own a puma unleashed t/ hauler. 2016. haul my can am spyder and floor is perfect. tears in flooring, is the owners own abuse of not caring about his investment. my neighbor buys these abused trailers ,most repos, or from neglective people that tear them up and dont care. he has 6 trailers right now . carpet at a flea market ,indoor out door carpet, etc. throw it away each year ,cheaper than a floor.

Flooring

Hi, I have a 2018 FR 17RP toy hauler and yes, the stock floor covering is not durable, as are many other things in the trailer. That said, at least it is a place to start and you can improve the original build over time.
I covered my floor with this: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
basically a thick, non-slip rubber sheet. I fastened a bunch of E-track to the floor, which helps keep it down. I didn't want to get moisture trapped under the rubber that would promote mold/rot of the plywood subfloor, so I caulked the perimeter with black caulk or you can use adhesive under the whole sheet. Cutting to fit is tricky, so take your time. Excess flooring is great for other storage spaces. Hope this helps!

Not only is the flooring garbage, but the plywood they use in toy haulers is crap as well! I just finished replacing the cheap particle wood plywood with treated 3/4” plywood. The subframe and plywood both broke where my Harley sits when in the trailer. Granted,my Harley isn’t light but it’s a toy hauler for cryin out loud! Also found some rot by the ramp door as well. I put solid wood down the middle of the floor and add more wood to the frame to make it stronger.
