Warren Buffets making money

New to the site and just put my deposit down on a T24RQMX. Will pick it up Saturday 4/15. Traded in my POS Pacific Coachworks 18RBS Tango (non toy hauler). Any info anyone can give on things to look for during the walk thru would be appreciated. Some options are: 4.0 Onan gen., swivel chairs IPO sofa, upgraded stereo, arctic pkg, 15k BTU refer, solar pwr, pwr stabs and tongue jack, and a few others. My initial walk thru I found: fuel station door doesn't close evenly to the body, wall plates for the tv powered antenna and the tv connections were different color than all others (a big pet peeve of mine as it is such a simple thing to do right during install), kitchen drawers do not close properly, bathroom door does not close properly, bathroom linen closet door does not close properly and finally the inside wall panel across from the sink was pushed out, as if the staples did not hold or were missing. Tow vehicle will be a 2016 F150 with 3.5 ecoboost and tow packages. Will be using the Husky WD hitch.

Congrats on your new RV! Hopefully you gave a list of the items you mentioned above to the dealership along with your expectations. Be picky now because once you take delivery you are no longer on the high priority list.

Congratulations on your new home away from home. And as Terier said, once they have you money they no longer know who you are and there is no urgency to get anything fixed.

Congrats on your new TH! If you show back up at pdi and find those things not fixed or much more wrong with the unit then I would walk away or ask for a new unit to be ordered for you.

By the way there is a good pdi checklist in our site library.

Also I strongly suggest purchasing the Forest River second year factory warranty. The forms are in the library as well. The shockwave appears to be $250 for the second year warranty. Totally worth it. Mine has paid for itself many times over.

That would throw up a flag to me. There are no staples in the sidewall construction of a laminated trailer. It's all put together with pressure and adhesive. If there are staple holes already in that area, someone has already attempted a repair.

That is delamination, and if I noticed evidence of that on a new rig I would be going over every square inch of all the laminated panels.

The problem with repairing something like that is the aluminum tubes that are buried in the assembly are spaced fairly far apart. If one of those are not in the area where the panel is loose, there is nothing to staple to. All that is in the wall is Styrofoam other than the aluminum frame.

If you noticed these problems during your initial walk thru, may I ask why you put a down payment on it?

I have a sabre so my issues were different. I will just say every manufacturer makes great trailers and every manufacturer makes lemons. I got a lemon. FR has been great to work with on my issues though. We are also looking to buy a TH and plan to stay with FR. As others said, I would be Leary of the already noted issues and look to another unit of the same model.

The deposit is fully refundable.

As for being laminated....I don't quite understand. There is no Styrofoam in this unit. It is aluminum siding with fiberboard (?) paneling on the inside and wood studs.

I find that my camper has similar problems before I have it leveled properly...

Front to back and side to side... possibly the model was never leveled and jacked at the four corners to prevent movement of the trailer...

I stand corrected. When I looked up that model number the info that came back indicated it was a laminated rig
