Fantastic Fan

I have a 2013 2715. I am installing a fantastic fan in the bathroom, which is pretty straight forward. But I want to run wires from the bathroom fan to the kitchen vent so I can put a fan in that one too. Anyone else done this? I am trying to run a fish tape through, but cant seem to get past the wall that has the refrigerator on one side and the bathroom on the other.

I wouldn't think you'll have much luck with fishing wires around in the roof because you can't see and there are many joists across it to provide strength.

With the bath and kitchen vent trim rings removed can you see anything looking from one toward the other?

Maybe stick your phone up in there and take a couple of pictures. You can also stick a light in one and look into the other to see if you see the light.

I worked for a few hours and finally found a path that went next to the ventilation duct. Wires have been routed and waiting for the fan to be delivered. It will be very nice to have a fan in the kitchen area.

thanks. No, when you looked into the rings all I could see was insulation. But I was able to get through using a fish tape.

I was able to route a wire from the bathroom fan to the kitchen vent. Took me a while using a fish tape but found that I could use the ventilation duct as a guide and role the tape over in my hand when I cam to an obstruction to get it over a structure beam. Wasn’t all that hard.

Good job.

Thanks for letting us know that it was possible and that you made it work for you.
