Have you checked your spare tire recently?

After 2 years of owning our 5th wheel, we got our first nail while on a road trip to the race track.

I figured no biggie, grabbed the spare from under the trailer... brand new rim and tire. Proceeded to mount new tire on trailer.... low and behold it's the wrong lug nut pattern.

Luckily it was the correct tire size as what was on the trailer, we had a tire guy at the track who swapped the tires and rims for me.

Now it's a battle with my dealer to replace the wrong spare rim!

Wow, that's not a nice surprise! I check the air pressure in my spare regularly but I've never thought to check to see if its the right lug pattern. Somebody screwed up at the factory. Might be worth making a call to the factory.

You're not the first person that's found out that the spare wheel didn't fit the RV.I guess we need to add checking the spare wheel for size and bolt pattern, to the PDI list.
