335BHS-TE,The good,The bad,and the ugly.

Hi all been lurking for sometime and now I'm part of the club. Our family upgraded from a 97' 28' Terry to a Cruasder 335BHS-TE which we love but it's been a quite a trip in a short amount of time as you will see.
I signed the papers at the end of June but did not pick it up until the second week in July(had a 8 day two state trip planned and no time to get it)in that time I had the dealer put slide toppers on.
I finely got it home, opened it up to the bunkhouse and main slide topper mounts hitting(I called the dealer on Monday and chewed some butt),I fixed that problem only to find a more serious one on the underside(from the factory)
http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...1&d=1378002134
http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...1&d=1378002180
I Emailed Prime Time on Saturday, got a call from Rodger Monday telling me to get it to the dealer and not to pull it in the rain but I had two trips planned and could not get it in for 2 weeks,I dropped it off at the dealer on a Sunday giving them 10 days to do the repair.
I got a call from the dealer on the following Tuesday that was done(thinking to myself what kind of job did I get?)well I will let the pics answer that. I was pressed for time on that Saturday but went down to pick it up(150 miles round trip)only to find
http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...1&d=1378004053
http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...1&d=1378004137
well after seeing that repair I went off(I think everyone at that dealer herd me that day)as you can see it was crap so I left without it and not being able to get it before my next trip they towed it up to me(I give them some credit for that but after all it was there mess up)so on Tuesday of the following week they delivered it and also leaving my keys back at the dealer(thank god for a spare set hiding on the trailer)finding it still not right as you can see by the pics with the 8-6-2013 date http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...1&d=1378004229
so after calling the dealer(was not real happy as you can imagine)and getting Rodger involved he talked to the dealer(up until this time I think he was on my side but he seemed to have shifted sidesmaybe it was the way I handled the dealer but I feel I was not respected as a customer)well the dealer sent a tech out to my house to fix the 2nd repair and bring the keys he did a good job for what he had to work with.
I called the dealer to tell them what a good job the tech did and to apologize for the way I handled them,I will have to watch the repair along with everything else.
I had some water damage on my last trailer so knowing that info I was sealing all the screws heads up behind the inserts(Please note:the awning and slide topper rails do not have putty tape behind them so watch the caulking)and so far have found 2 stripped screw holes with no screws or sealer on them
http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...1&d=1378006467(sorry it's upside down)
I'm 50% done with the whole trailer and started to seal things I don't like and feel will be a problem in the near future.
I did fix a problem with the floor register mounting screws cutting the fabric on the underside of the main slide
http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...1&d=1378007095
and I see I will have to keep my on the edges of it(as seen on another post)
After 5 trips things are good so far just a cabinet door and door strike plate adjustment,we love the camper and the floor plain I just hope with all thing now days we have good luck with it.I will keep you posted, take care

Just about every picture makes me want to rush out and buy a Primetime product.... I don't care how good your customer service is, that's just crap production and assembly methods. Unsealed wall panels and screws, no butyl tape under mounts, and cut-up fabric underside..

I think Prime Time makes some of the better units out there. They all can have shoddy workmanship and poor design flaws! That said I am already thinking of my next unit....... with eyes wide open!!

I've had several RVs over the years - all had some trim or finish issues. I've never had gross manufacturing errors or poor designs like that. I guess I've just weeded those brands off my list - you see alot at RV shows when you look behind the glitz and curtains and start looking behind panels and under the coach.

Hi all, well I finally got done with the sealing I was doing and found no more missing screws or holes but I found another potential problem spot
http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...1&d=1379192700
they folded the insert under the screw strip and sealed it with caulk so with the curve of the roof line the water collects at the end of strip and fills the void behind the insert and will seep in behind the screws if there not sealed so just make sure the water can't sit behind the insert.
I still have some accessorizing to do like JT Strong arms, bathroom fan upgrade, bunkhouse and bedroom tv's ,and adding two more stereo speakers(from the stereo in the master bedroom) in the living room.
I put the TP and hand towel holder in the bathroom, added drip edges to the refer vent,heater/plug,over the outdoor kitchen, the rear bunkhouse window, installed OEM gutter spouts on all the awning mounting rails, and added my Roadtrip grill to the grill mount.

Tonight is our 12th night in this camper and everything is working just like its suppose to but I think i'm going to join the ((slide underside wear club)) I'm showing signs of wear at the edges, not sure what there fix is going to be but I already have one of my own if there's isn't any good.
We are still very happy with the this unit and hope it stays problem free(other then the ones I already had).
Take care and happy campingKeepaeyeonit

EXGMtech, yes I think we need a mods thread whoever can get to it first can start. I like the drawer cover idea, I was going to make a cover for the outdoor stove(for more counter space)but haven't had time to do it and I already copied your bike rack mount( pin box mount and sewer hose storage were the first two things I did) I will post more pics on a new thread I did forget some more mods.

Platokidd, yes I had to remove the OEM regulater from the grill, I will get better pics tonight.Keepaeyeonit

Hay all, sometime back when I found exposed wood on the underside of our unit I also noticed a possible problem spot but until this past weekend pulling it home in the rain I could not tell. The lower slide seals have a L shaped plastic piece to hold the rubber and for the fasteners(screws) that covers the edge of the wood and Darco about 3/8" without any type of sealant to keep the water from getting to the edge of the wood(not sure if thats just my unit or thats a crossed the board) well the plywood edge was wet as hell so I removed the entire seal, cleaned, and sealed it with rubber undercoating. next weekend I will seal the edge of the seal just for added protection, like I said before I'm not sure If It's mine or there all like that but If you get time I would look.
I called my dealer to let them know I think I am starting to have a front flex problem(warranty ends 6/26/14)sent them pics and the loaded pin weight so I will see how this turns out. We love the camper and other then the noted problems in this thread I have not had a single problem with anything and I hope It stays that way Take care. Keepaeyeonit
